... now how about the book? Anyone know where the book, "Planes of the Head" by John Asaro can be found? I can't even find an ISBN number for it, but I know it exists.

Somebody from Asaro's family (daughter?) recently posted at wetcanvas.com (http://www.wetcanvas.com) saying she had them for sale. (Sorry, I don't have a link for the post.) If you find anything out, please let us know.

Here's (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3335153&postcount=22) the post over at WC. It's Asaro's niece, and she seems to be trying to start up the business again. Hope she makes it.

I emailed Karen Knapp to find out how much the Head is. $98 for the head, the 34-page booklet and the customer's part of the shipping within the Continental US.

to contact her.

Old thread but thanks for the heads up. I hop they make good copies of the original and not stuff that warp/shrink.

I have one:

The lady who was selling them ran out a while ago. (And they were no way near $98. Don't recall the exact price, but it wasn't that expensive.) Recently someone in one of my classes said he found another source that had them. I'll try and get a hold of him and post the address.

As for the booklet that comes with it, it's nothing special. Some bits and pieces of good information here and there, but nothing you can't already find in some other book or on the net. The book basically talks about observations of various features of the head and what shape they are; i.e. the eyes are not round but are spheres held in a socket and so on. If I can find it, I'll scan a few pages to show you guys. But like I said, it's nothing groundbreaking.

Moshe,

Hi. Thanks for writing.

Yes, I have the original Planes of the Head. They are $98 and that includes Head, 34 page booklet and partial shipping cost. I will cover any shipping over that.

IF you are outside the 48 continental US, shipping is a bit more.

I am currently waiting for the booklets, we had a slight delay at the printers.
I should have them by end of April.

Thanks
Any other questions contact me at this email, or [email protected] or

Thanks again.
Karen

If they're less elsewhere, I would definitely be in for that.

Where is World Art Supply? I can't find it on the net. Maybe under another name?

I haven't been on the forum in months. Then today, someone who I bought a foam asaro head from a few months ago - told me of a site where you can buy plastic ones. I thought it my duty to mention this on the forum. I signed in... saw that I had a private message... and wouldn't ya know it... serendipity, she strikes again! (The private message was from someone looking for Asaro heads. I responded to them - and now I'm posting the info for all else in this most hallowed house who might be interested):

You can get plastic Asaro heads here:
