can anyone give me some tips for cleaning brushes after oil painting. Right now, the way i wash them is to quickly rinse them in turpenoid and then use a bar of hand soap and water to get the rest of the paint out by hand. I usually do this until i see that the lather built up by the soap is completely white. Any tips to expedite this process would be greatly appreciated!

actually that's the best way to clean them. it is time consuming but it works and your brushes will last longer. i remember in highschool, i was told to just use turp to clean them, and then rinse with soap and water. that's kind of a bad idea becuase, the turp eats away at the hair's natural oils. and pow, after alittle bit, you'll be painting with stumps.

I agree that you are already using the very best cleaning method.
