This is only my first design of a world I'm hoping to expand upon into a potential short animated film, graphic novel or video game. (likely film)

I really don't know what to name this so just ran with space pirates. I was going for quite an iconic design and being by inspired by iconic heist scenes from TDK, Heat and The Town, I came up with the idea of animal skulls masks as unique masks for a gang of bandits set in a sci-fi universe.
I've actually been working on this design for over 2 months, so you can tell I work insanely slow at the moment since I'm just getting started in concept art. It could be a really long time until I make another design of the same universe. If so I would post it here. I was originally going to use 5 members but couldn't find a cool animal skull to use for the fifth. Animals used: Chameleon, Tiger, Bison, Piranha

A lot of feedback or advice would be appreciated ofcourse.

I think it is an interesting idea. Although it needs to be developed further. You should try and do some quick thumbnail sketches of each character in order to flesh out what details you are going to include in their gear. Each one of the animal masks has a certain personality to it, but I think you should really develop that further by doing some drawings of each character to highlight their personality. Like for instance, the guy with the chameleon mask could be a stealth based character. So doing some research on the animals you used, and how they feed/hunt/survive can give you some ideas as how to equip each character and how best to highlight their personalities. Also, based on the silhouettes of the guns they are holding, there isn't really a sci-fi feel to them yet. Technically speaking, the proportions seem decent for this early stage. The guy on the left is slumped over too much for my liking, though. I would go through and include some mid-tones and highlights in order to make them less flat. Overall interesting idea, just needs to be developed further.

I'd like to see the proportions based more on the creature they represent, eg, the bison guy to be large and stockish, the chameleon lanky and wiry. Something like that, just to give them more interesting silhouettes.

2 months man? Seems to me that you're not able to focus... setup a clock timer to 20 minutes and do a character every 20 minutes, you'll see that you are able to do it if you stay focused.
