Gnomon-omnomnom, does anybody watch these?

Pretty much what it said on the tin. Does anybody watch these? How useful do you find them? Can you recommend good ones for concept art/painting?

Personally I love the idea of being able to sit by the artist's shoulder as he's working. However for some reason I can never sit through more than 45 minutes of one without falling asleep. For example Syd Mead, a legend in his field, has the most monotonous voice ever!

So far I can recommend Syd Mead and Carlos Huante. I watched their entire series and found them immensely helpful.

oh yeah! i have a few...lots of useful insight. wish they werent so pricey though....i'd have a lot more. on my want list are jack bosson, wayne barlowe and the shiflett bros.

gnomon dvd's are awesome. i just recently ordered the steambot tutorials (barrontieri, vyle's and nicolas') i think. feng zhu's are really great too. i also suggest checking out stephen plattt's and david finch's for line art. i learned a lot from those :)

I've seen a lot of them and most of them are super useful. Especially the Feng Zhu & Ryan Church ones. The key is that being a great artist doesn't always mean you'll be a good teacher, but Feng's in particular are excellent because he's a great artist AND he's good at teaching his process to others.

I personally can say that almost all the Gnomon DVDs are helpful in a way. However, its also up to you how much you can benefit from them. For me, the better I get at drawing the more benefitial they become. If you are a beginner they look both inspiring and scary at the same time. Inspiring because you see the way how they make those amazing artworks from scratch, scary because it looks so difficult if you are a beginner.
As I said it differs for everyone but I think almost everyone can learn a thing or two from them. For me, I learned a lot.
