Hey folks,

I'm Artyom, or Art, and I currently study computer arts (3rd year) at University of Abertay, Dundee, UK. There we work a lot with 3D and animation, but ultimately I wish to learn to paint better and go into comic books or concept art.

I was wondering if you could have a look at my portfolio, and let me know any points you feel I should work on more. Ideally I'd like to learn to paint better in photoshop and go into comics, but atm I work a lot with vectors and 3D due to uni. Would be really really thankful :)

So in short, I do 3D, animation and interactive design in Abertay. And I would like to improve painting characters/environments and graphic design.

Anyway, here's the link, let me know what you think.

Maybe it's a wrong sort of portfolio to post? Sorry guys, I'm still getting used to here. But don't just not reply, rather push (or kick) me in the right direction :P

Righty, I actually made another post filled with artwork but it's away to get approved by mods.

Would it be better to start a sketchbook instead?

Yeah make a sketchbook man.
If you want a portfolio, Deviantart Portfolios are probably the best free service youll get. Dont use your gallery, makes your work look a little less professional.

Ofcourse your own website is the best for portfolios.

Thanks man! I made one just there actually. Next step would be to make up a nice looking CV and upload it then.

Here it is, the folio/ (http://asemenov.daportfolio.com/)

Definitely start a sketchbook here and put it in your signature and put studies and sketches in it. I had a little difficulty with your portfolio: sometimes I would click on a different thumbnail, but the previous image would just come up again? Maybe it's just my computer, but you might want to check that out.
