I'm thinking about getting it, but if I got Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, why would I need it? I want to draw comic books on bristol board, then scan the pages and color them on the computer and add lettering. Would it be better to have Photoshop, Illustrator, and Manga Studio? My focus will be on American style comic books, I'm not going to be heavily involved with the Manga style.
Can someone who knows more about this please explain it to me?

Manga is just the Japanese word for Comics.
It doesn't focus on a "Japanese style" of comic making. So don't assume D:
It can probably help in workflow as Watchman artist has used it just fine

Thank you, Arshes Nei, but I can't get that video you linked to run.

Never mind, I had to download some software to run it, everything is okay now.

I plan on drawing my comic books on bristol board, then scanning them and coloring them on my computer. Someone at Devianart said I shouldn't even bother getting Manga Studio, just stick with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Does anyone here agree with that?

It's not so easy to say yes or no. MS EX is obviously designed to aid the workflow of comic book creation and, unlike PS and Ill, contains panel drawing tools, excellent rulers (including three-point perspective) and, of course, really nice pen tools that draw lines that can be edited comprehensively afterwards.
Most of this can be done in PS and Ill with some pre-planning and template building and Illustrator, especially, has improved its line editing capabilities recently.
I find myself using PS/Ill more but I wouldn't give up MS EX. Also, as I'm sure you are aware, there is a mighty price difference. If you have PS and Ill then perhaps there would be no need to get MS but if you have none of these programs then it's worth downloading the trial of MS EX and trying it out. PS and MS EX would be a good investment but Illustrator and MS EX would be too much duplication, in my opinion.
