Hello all.

So my situation is like this: I live in Columbus, Ohio and I'm aiming for a career in animation, Pixar or Dreamworks being my far reach. I am also interested in conceptual art. So naturally, I applied to CCAD (Also applied to SCAD, but that was never going to happen). I was accepted and even got a scholarship from their portfolio competition. However, even with the scholarship, my family and I couldn't afford it. So this fall, I'm enrolling into OSU, which, honestly, was my safety school. I was thinking of going for a BFA in their Art and Tech program, but I have very little faith in it because it doesn't seem to have much focus in what I want to go into. Sure, their MFA animation program is pretty solid, but that won't happen for 4 more years, of course. So I'm not sure what to do. Even if I want to transfer to CCAD after the first year, I still may not be able to afford it and I'm not confident that all of the credits will transfer. I just want an education with worth. Any ideas? Other schools? Resources? I'm obviously very limited.

Have you looked at Animation Mentor, Ianimate, or Animschool?

University of Cincinnati's DAAP program is pretty badass and has spawned the likes of Ryan Demita. I'd definitely look into it: http://daap.uc.edu/

I've heard of Animschool, but not the other two. I had never thought to consider online courses, but it may be time to. Thanks!

Ever look up the road to Michigan and the College for Creative Studies? It's really not that far from Columbus.

Just a thought...
