Does anyone know why they don't have the streaming classes as downloads? This might not be an issue to people with a lot of bandwidth, but HD streaming is just not great where I'm from (The Philippines). It seems rather simple to just have all of the classes as downloads. there's a lot of the streaming stuff that I want but I'm very hesitant to download becaus I don't know if i'll be able to view the videos properly. :(

Without sounding like a bad customer, it's not what I hoped. This video is much more about value and rendering than forms.

I'm glad to donate the $8... but this could have been much better had the content showed how to actually get the drawing of a skull or some simple volumes in the skull-- or a complex object before going into rendering. It just shows Mike rendering a posterized (stamp filtered) photograph.

I wanted to get more information on how to look at a subject and see the forms.. whether or not that subject was fully lit or whether it was just a line drawing.

To be honest, rendering is easy compared to actually finding the initial 3D shapes/forms.

Man, these downloads have been such a huge part of learning art, so I'll give a quick story about the first one I purchased.

The first one I bought was Marko Djurdjevic's Character Ideation DVD - I probably watched this at least 50 times. I bought it back in early 2008 and it had a big impact on me. It was at the perfect time too because I was just getting serious about art and started an 2 year Illustration course. It made me realise the dedication needed to get to a professional level of art as well as helped me to understand that drawing as a process. Plus hearing Marko's insights into his ideas he had while designing the Character showed me it's all strong visual storytelling to make a memorable illustration.

Unfortunately one day about a year after I bought it I had the DVD case on the ground. I was lifting some weights and threw the dumbell on my bed and it bounced off the springs onto the DVD case, sounds a bit hard to believe. It was one of the saddest moments of my life, . I really wanted to buy it again but it's not available anymore. If I can buy a legit copy anywhere can someone let me know. (Edit: OH nice I just noticed it's back up on the Art Department Store *Big Grin*)

I also must mention how good the Carl Dobsky perspective video is. I've never found the information he gives anywhere else, like it's a secret or something. I found it very confusing at first but I was study some perspective from Loomis alongside Carl's videos and it all clicked. I just was keen to see Carl do 3-point perpective with the method, I devised a way but I wasn't sure how accurate it was.

Thank you for making art education an affordable goal. I work a pretty low income job, and don't have a ton of time anymore for my art, so I like my time to count. I attended art school for about 2 years and found it lacking, though a few choice teachers made the experience worth it. (RIP Tom Flanagan) I needed something to continue teaching and challenging me, at a price I can afford and these classes have been it. Combined with the forums as a whole, they have allowed me to continue doing what I love and keep the dream that it may one day be my career alive. Thanks.

Already watched Andrew Jones; Thumbnail Demo 3 times. I highly recommend this one, really funny guy and injects energy directly into the viewer. He has a strong philosophy too.
