For those of you in Arizona (Mesa/Tempe area) I have been going to a life drawing class that has some openings in it still. It is a non-credit class at Chandler Gilbert community college. It is on Saturdays. J.D. Parrish is the faculty on staff. He is a very talented artist who taught both myself and Mr. Manley while he was in town.

Contact me if you are interested and we will get you signed up. It is the most affordable life drawing class I have ever been too and the studio facilities are excellent.

I'm down here in Tucson. My first spring in the desert. seeing all the plants bloom has been quite inspiring. I've been going out and painting on the weekends here. what time is that life drawing class. sounds tempting.

It is on Saturdays at 1:30, but you would be looking at a killer commute! If you want to do it though, let me know.

Hey Howard, I gotta better idea.

Instead, you come down to Tucson and we'll sit in the dirt and draw with sticks. It'll be great!! :( *tear* I hate this dusty shit-hole. Problem is; I can't stand Phoenix either. I'm just a big ol' Arizona hater I guess...

On another note, If I'm ever up in Phoenix for more than an after noon, I'll drop you a line and maybe we could hook up for some sketchin' if you're interested.

Take it easy,
Malachi

1:30 to 4:10, but this week (the 8th) is the last one if this session. If you want to come to this weekend, I am sure you can come for free. We are going to be doing another "class" after that, so you can sign up for that one. PM me if you are interested and we can talk some more.

Hey lyon, when exactly is the next class going to be? I live about 5-10 minutes away from CGCC and am taking summer classes and will be enrolling for fall as well. I looked at all the art courses offered during the summer but it looks to be either photography or ceramics, there was art history though I s'pose... Hopefully there are still some spots open and I can hop in ;d

I responded to you in a pm, but for everyone else, we are trying to get the next class going the first part of June. It will be $41 bucks, on Sat. from 1:30-4:10 and it will last a minimum of 5 weeks, many more if we get more people to come. The idea is to make this enrollment last all summer and then start another class in the fall. We want to always have a class running. We just finished the last section of the class and it was one of the best life drawing studios I have been to. Very serious, and casual at the same time. I will post the details for enrollment when I get them, soon.

Hey guys,
I just found out last night that the next section of the non-credit life drawing class is starting on Saturday. The enrollment is going to be limited to 12 so hurry and sign up. The section # is 9085 when you call to register and the class is $41. It goes from 1:30 to 4:10. Here is their phone #. (480) 732-7320. The class might not be listed, so make sure you have the section # handy. Again, that is 9085. When I called, they asked how I knew about it. JD Parrish is the contact for you. They don't know who I am. :)

It is in room C-113. Here is a link to the map of the campus:

Here is my phone:
480-330-7728

There is always a chance that the model will cancel, so call me before you head out there just in case. JD Parrish is the man in charge of the class, though he doesn't officially teach, he just organized it. Hope to see some of you there.

Hey IM in Tucson!

I know people are in Austin right now, am I the only one that isnt there?!

anyhows,

I suggest a sketch session, just somewhere that a big table and coffee can be injested! Epic Cafe, Safehouse or where ever.

Heroes and Villains (comic shop) has drawing classes aimed at comic stuff, could be interesting.

Im a graphic designer web guy at the UA,

thanks

Anyone going to World Fantasy Con? It's in Tempe -Mission Palms Hotel on Mill -at the end of October.
I'll be the one wandering around looking like he has no idea what's going on.

I think there will be a large crowd doing that. It would be awesome to meet up and sketch, but lets select a location appropriate for me? :[

The above mentioned life drawing class has kind of run out.
If anyone here is still in the Phoenix area, this has been a really good drawing group and we need more people to join in order to keep us going. Feel free to e-mail me [email protected] or call 480-228-3639
The instructor is J.D. Parrish former student of Burne Hogarth and teacher of Jason Manley and Howard Lyon.
