That's right, this weeks topic is betrayal. I want to see you people making betrayals so... betrayaly that I break down in tears.
I want to see lovers betray each other, I want to see dynasties fall,
I want to see kind Kurt smash the doll of Little Lucy after she so kindly entrusted him with the dolls safety.
It's in our blood, let's see it in our art.

Focus--NOW MANDATORY
Focus is a new addition to the Teen Challenges to... well, challenge you a bit more!

This week's focus is composition.

Its not spam, its discussion. Are you actually going to do it this week? I mean I have an idea but not sure if I can pull it off. It will involve 2 people and as I struggle drawing one I doubt this will end well.

Awh, that sucks haha. If I get the time will try. Really depressed about the last topic, actually thought my 1st decent painting would win it for me, apparently not. I hope people have not liked themselves. Find that so depressing. Always will vote for someone different.

Really impressive jenny :), guys good news! It being my birthday yesterday I got a new tablet :D, hopefully my work should now improve as the back isn't falling off the thing.

If by limited you mean, there isn't much to draw regarding the topic; well, you're only limited by your imagination. :)

jenny7332: :O That's some nice work you have there, I can really feel the emotion coming from that face. Composition-wise I'm sorry to say I can't help you there, I don't know anything about it! But keep refining even if you are the only participant (though I doubt it, I think someone will manage to suddenly make a painting appear)

Hopefully you can draw something for this competition Platingaurd, I am curious to see how much better you are with your new tablet. EDIT: Oh yeah, happy (late) birthday by the way. :D

I might be making this after all! First WIP. I had this idea of someone getting betrayed by the one who has been with them all their lives, who's always been there.... their own shadow ;O Ooooh and happy birthday Platinguard! Congratulations on the new tablet ;D

As my gf broke up with me, and I am incredibly drunk. I decided I WILL do this. If it takes me all not. Quality I am not sure if I can, but now I have that betrayal feeling coursing through my veins I am thinking I should be ok.

Jenny, your work is amazing, Seriously. It looks just fantastic. Seriously. If you look, as good as your work looks... you are going to be just fine, you have my vote.

Ah lunatic hermit, if only it was that my imagination is limited, but actually I choose to limit it myself to my skill, which is kinda like... well my work is essentially spitting on a page signing it and crossing my fingers so yeah.

Well, I would have done but for the second time in 3 days my new graphics tablet don't work and am going to replace it... don't buy Wacom Bamboos... they are really shit

That sucks... for some reason the newer ones I buy break faster,
I have an old WACOM Graphire that's like 5 years old and it's still going
whereas my Intuos 3 broke after a year...

You've used a nice sharp edge on the shadow's claws,I like the shape of those and the slight blur on the side.

The shadow doesn't look quite right to me, it doesn't
connect to him like it should since the light's touching the floor there.
The shadow also shouldn't be completely opaque or one tone, but that
does depend on how harsh the lighting is.

Also, for shading things like clothing and skin, the airbrush probably isn't
such a good idea since it kind of fuzzes over any sharp edges that you
could be making like on the T-shirt, all your creases look like lines because
of the fuzzy brush and the way you haven't followed through with the
shading: you have the edges drawn in, but creases (along with most things)
need a highlight and lowlight to actually look like they're coming out from
the background etc. so it ends up looking more like a mark than a fold.
You might want to try experimenting with a harder brush to get in those
edges.

His feet also don't look grounded and the arms are very long, but this is
just a wip so I guess you'd have fixed them anyway.

well drivers and stuff are installed but it does not want to install bamboo dock so that it can actually run, not really sure what to do about that to be honest. Just keep trying to install it.

MANAGED TO GET IT WORKING ON MY LAPTOP, NO PHOTOSHOP SO PROBABLY END UP USING GIMP.
