Not that many people dare making visible muscles on the back of her shoulders, in fear of making her too masculine. Really impressive work.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the kind words. To answer a couple of questions, she's sculpted in Castilene and is about 12 inches tall. I'll be molding and casting her here in a couple of days, so now I've gotta figure out the color scheme. Thinking about a tattoo up one whole side of her body...

Very, very pretty! I like a lot movement, face and hole anatomy, maybe back and shoulders muscles too visible.
Congratulations! will you produce it yourself?

Amazing work. Do you have to use armature inside of the Casteline? Been thinking about trying Casteline recently but I don't know much about it.

March 16th, 2011, 06:51 AM
ebonyraven-I don't have any armature inside this piece except for her fingers. Castilene holds up pretty well without, it's fairly lightweight.
manueld- I do a lot of sanding with up to 400 grit sandpaper.
Mortimer- I'll be producing her as a model kit very soon.
Thanks for all the comments!

Great sculpt Acorn, I seem to hear about this casteline more and more these days. I'm still on a mix of sculpy firm and sculpy premo, I do sometimes have problems with very fine detail though.

Wow, that face is quite awesome - you got an exotic look with those beautiful full lips. And I adore the pose of her left hand, great lines. Lovely work.
EDIT: Just looking at it again, especially from the back, her neck looks slightly too long - I guess I was distracted before by her perfect buttocks!

PetarB- Yeah, I think you're right about the neck. Can't do anything about it now though, she's in the molds already! I'm also wondering if the problem might be that I didn't bring the back of her skull down enough in the back. I'll have to look at it when I open the molds.
TitusCrow- I'm actually going back to SuperSculpey on some of my private pieces. It's just so much faster than the Castilene or waxes.

This piece is amazing. I've recently started trying Castilene and find it difficult. Do you have any tips or know of any resources you can point in the direction of? Thanks. And again, a wonderful piece.

gnikerid-Castilene takes some getting used to if you usually work in Sculpey or something soft. I do a lot more carving than I do working with Sculpey. I'd say stick with it, and get some of those loop tools, they help a lot. If you've got any specific questions, put em up and I'll try to answer.

Beautiful sculpture... very dynamic and feminine. I just love the muscles in her back... I'm itching to do something like that myself, and if it comes out only half has good as yours I'll be happy. As for the neck, I wouldn't be too concerned, it looks good from the front, but a bit long from the back. Having said that, I've seen girls with long slender necks, so it's not like it is completely unrealistic. Looking forward to seeing the casting... wouldn't mind seeing the mould work either, if you can be bother to take any photos.

Here's a teaser shot of her painted up. I'm still trying to figure out a tattoo to go up one side of her body. It's one of those things that if I do it wrong, it'll be very hard to go back.

Wow! That's sweet. I love the details and the colors are just perfect. I also like how her face looks -- so sweet but there's a hint of darkness in her. You're really good at this. Kudos to you!

I really love the muscle tone, but the Cthulhu-like tentacles is my favorite part, the detail and how you've made them appear to glisten. The only thing that gets me, is how bored her expression is, almost as though she has no interest in being there.
I love the rest though.
