There comes a time in a young man's life where he realizes that up to this point it's all been fun and games. No work, all play. You've been a child up until this point. And sadly, a child cannot achieve the dreams you've been grasping at.

I came late to the art game. At the ripe age of 17, I took my first serious art class and decided "Hell, this isn't half bad. I might want to do this for a living." But at such a late stage in my High School career, I had little time to research schools and build a portfolio. Then all hell broke loose.

To make a long story short, my life took a tumultuous turn and now I find myself at 20, approaching 21, with little or nothing to show for myself or my dream of becoming an Artist. I cannot accept this.

So here I am, here by suggestion of a good friend and respected collegue. I am here to draw. Here to create. And biggest of all, I am here to learn.

So hello to the Conceptart.org community. I look forward to working, interacting, and learning from you all.

dont stress - this is just a job, just like any other. and unlike sports, you wont peak
until you are in your 70s. there is so much to learn you need to just enjoy the ride, ignore the 'rockstars' of this industry because they are all ego-centric wankers who think they are special when really no one outside of this little industry gives a damn about them.

A friend of mine spent his 20s in a punk band and on the dole... got a job at 30, moved up the ranks, started working on films and has now worked for the 5 biggest directors in the world, as well as with the most respected videogame studios around and is developing his own IP. hes doing well for himself and guess what? he didnt go to an expensive school, infact hes from a rural town in a country at the bottom of the world.
He is successful because he is himself. he sticks to his guns, does what he believes in and doesn't just jump on the band wagon.

'art school' is an oxymoron.

so forget the hype, its just a job.

have fun, learn and grow.
