does anyone know how good the furniture design program is at california college of the arts?

I toured there and it was pretty impressive. If you can take the time, I'd recommend you check it out. They've got some really state of the art equipment and a lot of the pieces that were up looked great.
The only down side I saw was the tuition (30,000 a year). I remember them saying they purposely do not post it on their website. But if it gets you to where you want to be, go for it. Hope this helps.

Huh? Tuition, along with a breakdown of expected room and board prices, are definitely on the website.
The tuition is high, but almost everyone gets financial aid. The average student gets just under 10k last I checked, and higher is not uncommon.
I'm an animation major, so I'm rarely even on the same campus as the furniture program, and as such can't really speak to its quality. What work I have seen is fairly impressive to my completely untrained eye.
