OMG what do i do?!!! wacom injured!

My wacom is falling apart! I mean I suppose i could use duct tape to hold it together but sheet i bouhgt it less then 2 years ago and 450 bucks is a lot right?


Do you think they will fix it?

there are screws on the intuos2..

yeah like the screws on the back are stripped I tried tighting em and the problem one just turns for ever. Do you think i could take it apart and put sime filler in the threads or will i bust somethgin trying to open it?

Anyawys cant you just remove the screws (and dont open it) and just replace them with some new ones ?

I'd try the warranty option first.. shouldn't be falling apart after 2 years...

That or superglue ;) I wouldn't try new screws as they will probably won't fit anymore or if they do will damage the plastic even further..

It depends what is stripped actually.

1)The screw: Is the screw thread stripped? In which case take it out and get a new screw.

2)The threaded hole: If this is the case then you have a bit of work to do. Take out the screw and check that it is OK. If it is then put it aside for later. Take the tablet apart, preferrably NOT damaging or removing any components except for the plate. Then get some good quality epoxy. Preferrably the kind with one black and one white tube (don't know the name) This stuff hardens very well and tends to hold very well too. Mix some up, then coat the walls of the hole with it, but NOT very thick. Only thick enough to cover the threading. Then screw the screw back in while the epoxy is still slightly wet and leave it for a while till it dries. It should hold like this, and when you remove the screw the threading should be there again, but this time composed of epoxy. Don't mess with the screw very much from this point on, since you will destroy the threading again. Just put it back together and it should hold (for a while at least).

Or just use the warranty if you have it.

It also occurs to me to ask why the hell your tablet is falling apart at the screws? Have you taken them out before, or has there been stress put on those points? A screw REALLY shouldn't be able to do that by itself.

THe screw is fine, it's the plastic screw hole that is stripped.

My plans are to pour some expoy in the hole.

HAs anyone actualy open a wacom? Im pretty good at fixing stuff but i have no idea what is inside this puppy. I dont think i ever sent the warrenty in. Is that a problem? It is huh?

dfacto, i dont know why on earth its falling apart!! I take really good care of all my things - all i use this for is drawing and somethimes as a drum pad. i kid i kid.
