Alright, so I'm pretty new to sculpting but I figure I'll give it a go. I'm going to do Hangman loosely based on the inpiration below.

Made the armature and bulked it up a bit with foil. Not totally sure about the pose but I'm guessing the flaws will reveal themselves when the Sculpey goes on. I'm using a 50/50 mix of Super Sculpey and Sculpey Firm, which I still think is too sticky but I might change the ratio as I go along.

Wow that was quick, great start!
I do love seeing peoples armatures :)

Thanks TeaMonster and thanks for hosting this competition, seems to be just the thing I needed to kick my ass into sculpting mode - let's hope it doesn't end up looking like I'm sculpting with my ass though :)
I've now put a few hours into getting some Sculpey on the armature. The pose is looking a bit lame right now I think...needs some more attitude.

Added some more Sculpey to the body and also tried to make his right hand/glove but that didn't come out like I imagine it would. Giving that another try tonight and hopefully it will actually turn out looking like a glove. It only stands 7½" tall which makes the detailing a bit more complicated than I wished for.

Thanks Thibron92! The glove came out much better on the second attempt. Will try and update with pics tonight.

The glove came out looking better but I'll tweak it a little when I've done the left one as well. Also started to shape the boots into someting more finished.

It feels like the hands and shoulders should be bulked out more, the volumes feel off.
It's looking good though!

ekobor: Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'll see if I can get som more Sculpey on there.
mufizal: Thanks for the hint :) I'll just have to find a good way to clean it up then... lots of coffee and patience probably.

I've been trying to smooth this dude out but that is tedious work. So to give me a break from that I started working on the gallow and tried my hands at making some rope... turned out pretty cool I think.

wow aRKaycreative I'm impressed with your progress. I agree completely, the rope came out really nicely. Also like the addition of fold detail in the hood. Guess it's a case of add, add, add and keep going. ;)

Thanks Nubitt and semoet. I'm planning on adding more ropes to the sculpt later on. I just need to do some more smoothening :)

Alright, so I've finished the sculpt and I'm taking two things with me; Sculpting rocks (as if you didn't know) and I really need to learn how to smoothen this shit out.
Kind of happy about how my very first finished sculpture turned out even though I am aware that a lot of things could be done better. I'll give it a week and then start thinking about the next one.
