View Full Version : Can't watch the streaming video I purchased

So I purchased a streaming video just over 30 days ago. The class was Creating Dynamic Poses for Art and Animation. A couple of days before it was supposed to expire (presumably it is supposed to expire 30 days after purchasing it, but it's kind of unclear), I tried to finish viewing the video.

It still takes the password fine, but when I get to the video player, it sits on a screen which looks like a TV test pattern. There's a play button over the top, and when I click it, it takes me to a menu for about half a second (from which I had previously been able to play the video), then goes back to the play button. I've tried playing it on a couple of different computers, and since it still takes the password, I assume that expiration is probably not the issue.

I did try emailing ConceptArt via the email address attached to the transaction, which I am starting to suspect is an email address that is never checked, before my 30 days were up. I also tried calling Massive Black, unsure whether they were at all related to a ConceptArt streaming video issue, and I left a message, but I still haven't heard back from them, even though I supposedly called while they were open (very early in the day). I didn't think of posting on the forums until today.

I bought these streaming classes (two of them, the other works fine) really reluctantly because I was afraid of technical difficulties meaning that my money would be swallowed and I would receive nothing. This isn't doing a whole lot to help quell my fears, especially the dead silence on ConceptArt's side so far. Any tips/advice? Or did the video just get taken down before 30 days were up?

Conceptart was using Livestream before switching over to Elluminate to do the online videos. Now it appears the Conceptart Livestream channel is offline. I don't know if it's just a problem that needs to be fixed or what.

I'm sorry you haven't gotten a response, but this isn't really my area so I don't know what to tell you.

Here's a thread about problems with Livestream: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=196201

OK, I have now tried the following computer/browser combinations:

Windows 7 x64:
Internet Explorer
Firefox
Chrome

Mac OS 10.6:
Opera
Firefox
Chrome
Safari

Still nothing working.

I really appreciate the response, though. I was starting to think I was all alone. (will try emailing that address)

Dont know how I missed this thread yesterday. Im having the same problem, except I purchased mine yesterday thinking it was like the other ones listed as on-demand and used Elluminate.

I'm having the exact same problem as well. I purchased the videos under a month ago during the Labor Day sale promotions but I haven't had the time to watch them until this weekend, for which I was planning to have a 'livestream marathon'. I'm positive my 30 days aren't over yet, and my password also seems to be working just fine. However, clicking on the 'play' button on the center of the player only 'loads' the player for about half of a second before reverting back to the same "offline, tv test pattern" screen.

I purchased two on-demand classes (Colour and the Theory of Light, Idea Development for Artists) and both of them seem to have this issue. If I click on another area on the embedded player, I am redirected to a page on livestream.com:

"Unfortunately, [conceptart/ideadev] has been temporarily locked. All of [conceptart/ideadev]'s videos will be hidden until we can resolve the issue."

I understand that this may or may not be within the control of conceptart, but nonetheless I do not wish to be unable to view the classes even once. I am wondering if it is possible to extend the 30-day lifespan of the password (or so I've heard that it only lasts for 30 days?) in the event that the on-demand videos are still unviewable after my password expires?

(Will definitely check back to see if there is an update on the situation!)

I'm experiencing the same problem too.

and yeah, I hope we get password extensions also, and can view the video tutorials =)

Exactly the same problem I've been having. I also purchased an Elluminate video and it's working fine. I have also tried playing the video at school on my laptop (totally different computer & internet connection) and still no luck. I'm pretty sure it's not an issue with all of my computers... ):

Also, supposedly the streaming videos never expire. Such is what I have heard; I'm uncertain whether it is true, but if it is, I'm a lot less nervous. I don't mind waiting a few more days to watch the video, so long as I haven't lost it forever.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know when CA switched from Livestream to Elluminate? Pretty sure I never want to buy anything with Livestream again...
