I wanted to share some of the digital work I have been developing over a busy schedule, and wanted to get some suggestions, or even advice on how to continue developing! I suppose I'm rather new to digital painting, although I've been experienced with other aspects of Photoshop! I have recently began seriously honing my digital painting skills in the last few weeks, and plan to learn 3D as well. So these are first in line!

The first is just a creature design that I plan to expand and work more on later.
The second is a base character design that I'm not quite happy with just yet, and therefore has not added any extensive detailed armor, and decided to just create her in .. her undewear and a weapon? xD

I'm self taught in photoshop and painter, but is fairly young to the industry.

nice. Watch the girl though. The anatomy on her body is a bit wack. Specificlly her hands are smaller then my 10 year olds. Nice rendering though

the lighting on your creature is interesting and there seems to be a variety of textures going on. I would work a bit on your forms though. There is a lack of dimensionality in the foreshortening/overlapping areas that makes everything feel kind of flat.
also, the anatomy on the girl is a bit strange. it could just be the style you're working in, but i would recommend doing a lot of life studies or at least use some good reference when working on the initial form.

Yeah.. I didn't use reference for either, so I'm going to try and improve that aspect of her. Thanks for the advice!

I took a look at the first creature design, and you're right, the arm does create a sense of flatness to it.. Mmm..! Well, Have to keep trying!
