OpenCanvas disaster

Hi guys! I really desperately need some help if it's possible. I've been using OpenCanvas 4.5e for a while now. Out of no where, it started crashing every time when I tried to save a picture I've spent 25+ hours on! I have reinstalled the program, I have used older versions, and I'm completely exhausted of ideas of retrieving this picture.

Does anyone know any other programs that might be able to open .oci files? Or any other ways of retrieving this picture? Thank you so much!

I don't use the software but can you not copy and paste into another program to save from there? Also could print to pdf file if you have acrobat.

Hey Jason thank you so much for your reply. Anyhow, I tried the copying into another program trick, which just made the whole thing that much more bizarre - the issue is that it doesn't matter which layer I select, it always copy and paste a same layer - one that I have deleted aeons ago.

I can't print without the whole file crashing either. I think my next attempt would be screen capturing and retrieve whatever I can. SOB

Did you try printing to PDF 995? maybe play w/ the settings, lower the DPI to reduce memory use? How big is the file? Image pixels x pixels?

Not to be accusatory, but if a computer has ever had a pirated version of OC installed, this sort of thing can happen in OC. That's even if the dirty version were uninstalled and replaced with a legitimate version, because some data is retained in the registry, and OC does its best to mess with you if it detects any remnants of a pirated version.

That's the only case I've heard of where OC will refuse to save files, but there could certainly be other things that might cause it! I really don't mean to cause offense by this!!
