Checked out the new Punisher trailer today. I don't know about this one. Looks like it could be another Daredevil. But if they do the action right it could be entertaining at least. Anyways here's the link...

Watched this trailer some time ago and I laughed my pants of. Really, it's so pathetic that it has to be joke. I mean the only ones who would want to see this movie after seing that trailer is stupid teenage kids.
...and maybe us long time Punisher fans ;)
but the trailer really sucked monkey poop.

Al-x...
I truly have to disagree...now if this were the Punisher with Dolph Lundgren then i can see what you mean...(that movie was horrible)...

I'm not saying that the movie will suck (chances are it will but I'm hoping it wont). It sure will be better than the Dolph Lundgren movie. I'm just saying that the trailer sucked.
It's just so overly cliche and that narrator voice was just over the top.
But I would say that it probably is perfectly executed for the target audience, the guys who just want to wach some brainless action movie with lots of explosions and catchy phrases. They probably love this trailer.
Just hoping the movie wont be all like that. I really enjoyed the classic Punisher comic (you know the one that Mike Zeck did the art on) and I would like to see a movie that did that comic justice.

you're right al-x, we loved the trailer :D
I think this movie will be a really good action movie, and I think it has stayed very true to the spirit of the Punisher story from the comics.
However, I will say that, personally, If I had made this movie (oh how I wish), I would have set it in the early 80's, kept Frank Castle as a Vietnam vet (he's a former Delta Force in the new movie). They definitely missed the opportunity there to set the trailer to 'Paint it Black' by the Rolling Stones :)
And maybe cash in on Battlefield: Vietnam's success!

Well Thomas Jane (61, anyone?) is a decent actor, so here's hopin he pulls off the emotional side well when he loses his family..then we see the switch to the homicidal vigilante we all know and love...
After reading several interviews with Thomas Jane, he really got to love this character...chit he trained months to get stuff right, fromthe butterfly knife (and he really does it that fast)..to running properly while firing a gun...shit he learned how to take someone out in 30 seconds...that's getting into character....

I'm sorry to say that this looks like typical hollywood garbage churned out by the machine. the movie doesn't look like it has any soul or flavor. it's a pity because I always thought the punisher comics were pretty edgy. who knows I could be wrong, but I smell the stink of a new daredevil.
