I love you guys @ massive black.
I've always avoided spending $ to buy these class videos, 1 because I wasn't really ready skill-wise, and 2 because I'm fairly poor T_T. However, now that I've managed to level up my skill (or so I hope) thanks to the support given by CA forums people, and now that this incredible sale has happened, I think im FINALLY GONNA DO IT :D. Ima get a video tonight!!! <3
Hehehe, any of you guys have any suggestions as to what to get? I'm looking at "a hostile takeover" :D

Sorry for being oblivious ^^ But what does the Streaming classes include? In comparison to a video tutorial?

I have never seen a streaming class (im actually downloading my first video ever, "hostile takeover" ;D), but I THINK a streaming class focuses more on how you develop/think about different problems/concepts/areas of art. So, I THINK a streaming class probably talks more, shows you more examples, but probably not a whole painting from start to finish. Again, I'm just guessing, anyone wanna chip in who has actually seen a streaming class?

Very cool of you guys to have the sale, loving it. One question, is the Sammy Hall video not supposed to be half off? All the other downloads I've looked at are half price, but that one stays at $20 dollars even after I put it in my cart.

Is Sammy Hall- Evoke the Dragon | Volume 1 half price? It's not showing up as a sale price. Is it too new?

Thanks for the discount. I'm watching the Sammy Hall, Evoke the Dragon | Volume 1 now. Have downloaded Zhang Lu & Jason Manley portrait vids also. I think I have most of your vids now:)
Joshjohanson: It depends on what you are after in techniques. I have the Manchess video, and you can learn alot on both painting technique and on the subject of being an illustrator. He is a really good teacher. I havent seen the Alla priima vid, but I'm wondering if I'm going to by that one also.

i have a quick question - how can i download stuff from MB store?
ive bought 3 downloads few hours ago and still didnt get any link, password or info on from them - only confirm mail from paypal, that they sucessfully transfered money from my account to TAD
ive also purchased steaming class about colour theory and got my password instantly after payment

@vonkulfon:I bought one video too, when you pay with Paypal, the browser should transfer you to a page which says that your payment was sent etc. ,and on that page, there is a link "continue to download".But I think if you send an email to the CA guys with the order number, they'll surely send you the link to the download.
I could finally buy "The Mystery of Form",you guys are awesome!I mean WOW,50% discount of everything?THANK YOU THANK YOU!:yayca:

Ok, so im debating between the two, both of manchess's above the timberline videos, or Coro's Alla Prima vid? HELP ME DECIDE!!
I have both and if I were you I would take the Coro's Alla Prima. Both are awesome, but if you are not so good at painting the Alla Prima's vid is more about the technic where Above the Timberline is more into the theory and philosophy of painting/illustration (there's some really good practical insight but you don't see the entire process like in the Alla Prima vid).
And for alexnegrea you can watch as many times as you want the on demand but you can't download it. As for how long it will be up it don't know.
By the way, thanks again to Ca.org for these awesome promotions.

Hey guys! I just picked up a ton of videos and purchased 5 of the streaming classes. I've never tried out the classes before but I've been to the workshops so I'm sure there is loads of great info in there for us. I'm just wondering if I'm able to view the class multiple times or should I make sure I have several hours set aside before I start the stream? If these are on demand I'd assume I could watch them over again or start the stream at different points if needed. Just curious. Thanks for the help and for the terrific sale. Looking forward to learning this week!

Considering how much this site has given me over the last few years; and how little I've put back in (especially considering that I'm an avid lurker), this is a good oppertunity for me to put something back in.
So thanks. (+ I get some awesome videos)
P.S. thanks to Galaran for his recommendation.

Does anyone know if the Anatomy for Artists class actually goes through learning the bones and muscles of the body or is it just going through different ways of how past artists have portrayed it? I've been looking to buy an anatomy book, but don't know which is the best since some of them go through identifying more separate muscles and bones than others. I'm looking for something a bit more simplified.
BTW...this sale is awesome!! Thanks so much

Just bought the Nox Illustration and Mike Bierek's Mystery of Form.
Ever since I've been a part of CA, I have been a huge admirer of the artwork of Bruno Gore. It just feels great to finally own something I have wanted to learn from since ages (almost literally).

No one answered my original question. Once you stream a class or start and stop in the middle are you able to continue streaming it again or watch it several times?

Like I said above yes, you can. There has been two technologie used for the streaming classes, the first one who's working by segment but you can go where ever you want into each segments (sometimes it's freezing -it does'nt happen often so don't worry-) and the new which is better and load the entire class at once and you can go wherever you want without any problem (just got to wait a little).
Hope I've answered your question. (and sorry for the bad grammar, english is not my native language)

As if the ca tutorials were not good value at full price.... at half price i can't not buy them.
A small note. When i picked up COMPOSITION i was expecting maybe an hour and a half of material, maybe a gig? Seeing as the reality is like 3 hours and 2.5 gigs i think it is well worth a mention on the store page for it.

This sale is effin awesome thank you guys at MB and CA so damn much.
I'm actually having an issue with playing the movies I downloaded (Jason chan's style exploration and sam brown vehicle design). My windows media players seems to not recognize the extension .mov and refuses to play it. Am I doing something wrong here or need some other type of media player?
Edit: Okay so I figured I need Quicktime and I'm trying to install it but it's giving me serious issues. Tryin to find solutions on the net

Bought both of Zhang Lu & Jason Manley's downloadable Portrait videos.
I'm really tempted to buy Color Theory and The Female Figure, but they are 'On Demand' streaming classes. I've read through the posts but so far, to my understanding, these classes are not downloadable, they stream on the web and after purchased, they are only available for a limited amount of time? Is it possible for someone to elaborate on 'limited amount of time'?

its not "new", its new. And on earlier sales CA has stated that when these downloads come out, it wouldn´t be fair on the artist to just right away put it for sale.

@Sonia Leticia:
I watch most of the Massive Black downloads with VLC Media Player. It will usually play most Quicktime movies. I use VLC when I can because I don't really like the Apple Quicktime player. A few of the downloads won't play right in VLC, and I have to use the Apple Quicktime player for those. I am not sure about the ones you mentioned because I haven't bought those.

which downloads cant you get to play right in VLC? I have almost all of them, and they all work perfectly, much better the with QT or any other media player. This includes also the downloads which require subtitles.

@Hive_Mind:
I took a look at my videos, and it looks like the only one that has a problem is Gary Kelley Oils. I get an unhandled win32 exception error when it tries to send the video to a new WinGDI output window. After the error, the video will continue to play in the main window if I ignore the error. If I close the extra (blank) WinGDI window or choose a yes or no response on the error message box, everything stops. The video plays OK in a new window with no errors if I play it in Quicktime. Several of the other downloads put the video output in a new WinGDI window outside the main VLC window, but these are not giving me errors.
I thought I was having trouble with a few other downloads, but only this one gives me an error now. Maybe I confused them with some other videos that weren't from Massive Black.
I am glad to hear that the subtitles work. I was a little put off by the subtitles because they are not working right when I look at the trailers on youtube. This is probably some problem with the youtube flash player, but it makes you wonder how the real files will play.

Damn, I dont have Gary Kelley´s download. But have you tried redownloading the original zip file. I´m sure MB wont mind sending another one. It might not change anything, but could be worth a try.
But yeah, subtitles work good in VLC, I explain how to work them here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showpost.php?p=2727450&postcount=29). Only thing is I cant get them to work in QT, spent a lot of time trying to get it to work (for those who want to use QT), but without luck. Though, as I have stated before, I have always preferred VLC.

I don't think the file is damaged. It plays without errors in Quicktime. I think there is probably just some setting in the file that VLC doesn't like. I don't think I'll try to download it again, since I am able to watch it. I can usually watch the whole thing in VLC if I ignore the extra boxes that come up with the error until it finishes. If I make a yes/no choice for the debugger or try to close the blank window, the whole thing stops, but if I leave them alone they just wait for a respose while the video is playing in the main window.
I took a look at the subtitle link and that looks pretty easy to get working. I guess i don't have to be afraid of subtitles now.
