digital painting

im pretty used to photoshop7.0 but im really not happy with my painting skills yet if anyone has time to maybe give me a quick tut. i think it would help alot. this is the pic i would like to paint maybe even if someone could slap a quick paintjob on her for me and give me some pointers on how they do what they do. i really would appreciate any help. im just in awe of some of your digital paintings
ps. i usualy make the sketch a muliply layer and paint under it not sure if thats good but i cant seem to get rid of all the sketch lines .

I'm pretty new to the digital painting myself, but I think I can help you, with if nothing else, but the extreme basics.

The idea to digital painting would be to start blocking in shapes with a large brush. Then work to a smaller brush as you work in the details.

I haven't worked out a good opacity/flow setting that I like yet, but that will help with your gradients.

i've practiced digital painted for acouple days now, and I'm very familiar with PS7 as well. I'm thinking I eventually will move on to using painter I figured I'd learn to do it in photoshop first. Well to start you off you need to clean up your sketch or pencil/ink layer then just put that layer mode on "multiply". You want to put on the base colors first so on a new layer use the paint brush and start filling, also use the polygon lasso tool to get to the edges. So basicly as you go on to highlights or shadows you want them to be on all seperate layers. Good luck.
