Jama Jurabaev is a very talented artist here on ConceptArt.Org who has been learning in the community and working very hard to become a top environment artist. Jama is from Dushanbe, Tajikistan and TAD is going to be helping him to develop his character, creature, and intellectual property development skills, and reach into new genres. He has an excellent understanding of science fiction, environment composition, and is of stellar talent in these areas. Being a top entertainment design artist means more than that though, one must master all genre, all areas of character, creature, environment, matte painting, and world development. We are very fortunate at TAD to have such a highly talented artist as Jama joining us for this 30 month program.

Congratulations Jama. We are going to push you very hard. We expect to see you become one of the very best. We have no doubt you will take advantage of this opportunity to focus on your character, and creature development work, as well as narrative and unique personal point of view. All of this will be key to your future success. Striving for excellence in the figure and character work is going to be a huge challenge, and we have no doubt you are up for it.

Welcome to TAD. The best art students on earth are joining us. It is going to be one amazing school year. The entertainment design program has many students who could get jobs doing parts of production in games or film now. TAD is not here to make production wrists. TAD is here to help entertainment designers become world builders...the whole thing...not just parts. They will learn to tell stories, to design, to create universes that appeal to their own tastes and vision, and to the global entertainment market. Think of it this way...would you rather be penciler number 7 at some comic company or the Mike Mignola/Frank Miller type. The latter have had the freedom to create, they have had fame, and have had more than just a job to pay the bills. There is a difference. TAD teaches that difference.

Congrats! Gorgeous work. That next-to-last image... the Iron Man type soldier pic -- waow, the sense of lighting and colour and atmosphere is so palpable! Same goes for the canyon pic... Just beautifully imagined and executed. Bravo!

I will enroll onto the program the worst of the site. Current good artists deserve good tuition because they are already good? Whoa, now it makes sense.

And BTW, all this "Talented Guy" and "SuperCool School of us", sounds worst day by day. żDo you know that Guilds were abolided by 1800 and why, Jason?

The good and talented artist's should be rewarded for there hard work thats why they get a Scholarship. No one just became good out of the blue some became easier some became harder but they ALL gave a lot of sweat and blood to become good.

And yeah TAD is supercool!

Man, the skill of the students attending TAD is insane. I might need to go shrivel up in a corner and practice silently for about thirty years before trying to stand up in their blinding light of awesomeness. xD

Astounding work, Jama! If I can survive it, I look forward to learning with you!

I think you're a great choice for a scholarship, Jama. You've got a lot of work ahead of you, but you show a huge amount of promise, especially in that third-to-last image. It's such a sure statement of atmosphere and mood.

Ian,

I started as the worst student in my class. The very bottom. I had no high school degree and no experience whatsoever. Talent only goes so far...it is hard work that pays off. TAD is a merit based program and those who work hard get the rewards. Jama lives in a country where these opportunities are few and you living in the west provides you with far more opportunity. Jama chose to take art and make it his and we are going to help him with a scholarship because of it.

As for me...It took me three years to get my scholarship to Art Center, though I could not afford to go even then. TAD, even at full tuition is far more affordable than any of the other big Art programs here in the US.

As someone said to me years ago and changed my life..."if you want it whats stopping you...aint nothing between the pencil and the paper but air!".

Yes scholarships are still available for new applicants. We have a handful of folks who recently applied which are yet to be reviewed and will be in touch soon! Get your applications in if you are interested! There are half and quarter rides still available too.

Oh...and regarding the skill level of the students. It is actually quite mixed. We have many beginners. Those who are beginners are surrounded by a great group of students and anyone who went to art school previously will tell you that they learn just as much from the best students sometimes as they do the teachers. Want to soar like an eagle, surround yourselves with eagles. That is how it is done.

Not everyone gets to go to school or receive scholarships. Sad but true. Scholarships and students might get the high road, but there's still the low road. Should any of us make the journey, we can know we did it all by our own toil without a helping hand from teachers. Imagine the satisfaction from that.

Congrats Jama! I've seen your work at sijun and deviantart, mad skills man. mad skills.

I look forward to seeing the work that comes out of this program! Being Ent. Des student at Art Center, it will be cool to see what other programs are pushing out from different schools. I wish the best of luck to everyone in this field, it is indeed a handful of fun~

Jama,

Your landscape/cloud painting feels very large. That's a difficult thing to pull off in a small reproduction. Good work, and I'm excited to see where you go next!

Well, it is one of those times, when i don`t know what to say))

I feel so happy and lucky to have a chance to be among those awesome artists in TAD.
It is big chance for me to become a better artist and at the same time big responsibility,
because i have to do my best!)

I want to thank Jason Manley and all other amazing people standing behind this wonderful program,
because i really had no other chance to get so real education and experience, here in my country.
And i will do my best to payback with my artworks)

Looking back, i can`t believe that this is all real.
I`ve never thought that my art can get any attention and support.

And now looking at all of those warm comments i feel so happy.
But what is more important, now i understand, that passion to art have no boundaries.

No matter what your age is or where you live or what is your profession, art is something that remains in our heart.
And to let it out... we have to study and work as much as we can)

So a lot of things to learn more)
Just want to thank everybody who supported and supports me in this road to better art)

Wow, grats Jama! I've been inspired by your sketchbook a few times :).

In response to Ian, there's still around 1 million+ in scholarships still left, wouldn't be beyond reason to think that the second/third year of TAD those wouldn't go more to equally passionate people still at the learner/student level.

Wow, congratulations, awesome body of work there. I got a phone call from Scott today, and he told me that I was accepted and eligible for a partial scholarship. Unfortunately I had to refuse due to financial reasons (got no money ya'll) and I don't want to get into loans at this point for personal reasons. I did, however, want to see if I was eligible for any sort of scholarship at all, turns out that I was (I'm honored), but I still can't afford to pay for any part of tuition at this moment. Perhaps I will try my luck again next semester with new work. Best of luck to everyone in the program!
