Reflecting upon character creation

Hello all,

I am currently in my final year at Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand. I am investigating a year long project that will attempt to design a post apocalyptic world inhabited by people with location-specific mental disorders.

I am in the early stages of the project and am still playing round with all the possible directions I can take. Part of my process is recording myself draw characters with little initial purpose. I then revisit the designs to research possible story leads and varied interpretations of their outfits.

Thank you, its been difficult coming up with a semi-original twist! Yes, post-apocalyptic but perhaps also post-distopian? Perhaps society has reached a functioning stability?

To be honest at this point, the link between the environment designs and the character sketches is minimal. I guess I am going through a process of elimination with what I prefer. From here out I guess I will be looking to get rid of the standard "leather and bronze" look thats associated with the post-apocalyptic genre, no matter how much I like it!

The character's outfits at this point are loosely based on remnants that would have survived an apocalypse, but more so just experimenting with shapes.
