Canvas size??

Hi. I always always wondered how big to create my painting sizes in PS... People always suggest to work at really large resolutions, but how large? And how should I determine that? Could anyone give any tips?

Opchia Id say 2000x2000 a size for more refined work. I use around 1000 pixels for sketches maybe a bit less. In the end though its really up to you.

If your artwork is ever going to be printed, your canvas size will definitely matter. You simply need to know how large the print is going to need to be (inches by inches) and make sure your file is set at 300 dpi. If your work is only going to be viewed digitally your canvas sizes don't need to be very big. Computer screens only display at about 72 dpi, so the piece will be just fine at 2000x2000.
