I've been regularly refreshing this page for quite a few hours now, waiting for some announcement of how to sign up.

So I've spent a while staring at that top picture, and i'm really starting to love it. I think he has used the 'natural spiral' as a rough guide for the composition. Something I've attempted with disastrous results. But i think i was trying to be too exact, too regimented, while he seems to gently persuade the eye around the picture.

I'm learning things already :), can't wait for the workshop.

We are working out the details on launching the live class. It is going to be first come first serve. Those who are there when class starts will be given the link. We are checking on a few things to see if we can increase our headcount in the software for the live class and will be posting more information tomorrow. It is going to be kind of like a radio call in contest...first x callers get the prize. :) We will announce within this thread.

See you soon.

John English
May 7th, 2010, 02:20 AM
The class on Saturday will offer information that is hard to come by:

• How to make the jump from student to professional
• What is needed in your portfolio ( from a student portfolio - professional)
• Identifying yourself as an artist ( personal point-of-view)
• A look at process and how it effects the outcome of your work
• True picture-making skills and what really makes the difference
• Sample demonstrations
• Demonstrations from John Foster and Brad Rigney (CryptCrawler)

You can sample the technology being used by TAD, bring a headset/mic and speak directly with the faculty or communicate through our text chat. So come prepared with questions and be ready to take notes!

Here are a few samples from the faculty:

1.) So the link is clickable to the first 300 clickers or do they also have to register or so?

Thanks in advance!

confusing time ,can someone tell me when is it in GMT??

Pilgrim1099
May 7th, 2010, 12:38 PM
If this is Central time at 12 to 3pm and I'm on EST on the New England area, then that means it starts at probably 1pm here, then? If so, I'm probably going to have to tell my sister off and wait for me til I'm done watching this and then go to her house later. I could try and get on the link but that means I'm going to have to rely on what's going on in the desktop screen and do what I can to hear what they're saying, if I can which could be a struggle. I'm still unsure how that's going to work camera-wise.

Otherwise, if this is FREE, I need this course. BAD.

Thanks!

The Art of the Female Figure was a great experience that got me interested in the VLP - well worth the money. Can't beat the price on this class! If you have any doubts about the tech this is your chance to get rid of them. I'm sure with all the interest in the class it will give the tech a stress test. Thanks again for offering this CA.

First, Thank you, I'm sure this will be good.
But I will be watching it on demand as its on at 2:30am (like The Art of the Female Figure was which I got up for and was well worth it:)) and with no guarantee of getting in plus ten minutes late (don't know if you'll be waiting). I'll be taking the sleep this time around.

Awesome! It would be interesting to know how many people end up fighting to refresh their browsers in time to get the link! More then 300 for sure! I'll be one of them but if I miss out, it is great to know there will be "on demand" too.

Thanks for this!

Heres an idea !
i think it would be a helpful if someone could record the class? is this allowed?
Becuase for all the people who might miss out it would be nice if they could watch it in their own time as the class is free
i asume that if someone were to record and host it possibly a community moderator etc
if that would be acceptable?
just an idea.
