Welcome to the Austin POD.

Map: (right in the heart of the 5th and 6th St. Event and Music District! )

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Paggi family's original Blacksmith Shop, built in 1874, is comprised of gallery entry, gallery showroom, conference room, three offices, full kitchen, full bath with tiled shower, walk in fire proof vault, storage rooms, all opening into adjoining newly constructed open studio art and event space with 22 foot ceilings. Hard corner site - NE corner of 5th and Neches, across from Hilton Hotel and main pathway between Austin Convention Center and 6th Street Entertainment District. High traffic count and visibility on 5th Street corridor. Unique interior finishes include original long leaf pine floors, interior limestone walls, stained concrete floors, custom ironwork, skylight. Being an official SXSW Venue location means the Austin TAD POD is in the thick of it all. Also we are right next to the new Austin public train too!

With Austin and this district being home to the largest music, film and interactive festival on earth, as well as the game developers conference, screenburn, sxsw interactive's conference, and a host of other major events right next door, we are at the heart of networking central. To put it in perspective...do you know how most music festivals will have 50 or even 70 bands? Well, SXSW has one thousand six hundred bands, as well as the film and interactive portions that go on. The Austin POD will be holding monthly events to take advantage of this creative area. There is no other art school like what we are doing with TAD worldwide.

We will see you soon!!

The pics at the bottom are from the start of a show called live.create which was held here during last years SXSW festival. SXSW brings the famous and interesting. We will be ready. :)

Holy crap man!! I guess the saying "Things are always bigger in Texas" is true both outside and in. I've never been to Austin, TX...*so this is a few of the places Austin has to offer*

This is a beautiful space and an awesome looking place for a school :) *this might make a few people jealous* :D

Ya man. Definitely. My fiance and I will be up there on the 21st and the 22nd. We already have a huge spreadsheet that we've put together. We are going to revise it this week now that we know where the school is. I can mail you a copy if you would like.

I know Dorian is also up there, it would be cool to meet up and have lunch or look at apartments. Maybe we could check out the studio too o.O?

This is gonna be friggin' sweet

tad workshops and the conceptart.org art and design symposium that most everyone are familiar with (not to be confused with markos substantially similar event), are entirely different. The next symposium is in Europe in the fall.
