Hello everyone. My name is Zach Schoenbaum, and I'm an illustrator based out of Los Angeles. Now that I'm out of art school it seems that there are few opportunities to get good critiques, so I encourage anyone who has an idea that could improve my work to comment freely.

As this sketchbook grows, I would also love to hear any opinions concerning which are my strongest pieces, and possibly which direction to take my work as a whole.

My ultimate goal is to get into publishing, working on interior and cover illustrations. I am always looking for opportunities to grow towards that goal, in skill as well as experience, so if anyone who is already in the publishing industry has advice that could steer me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so the previous two pieces are my most recent traditional and digital pieces, respectively. I've been on a japanophilia kick lately. My earlier work can be easily viewed by following the links in my signature to my official website (last updated a while ago), and my blog (which I update frequently).

Very nice stuff on your site, and good start on your sb =).

My initial suggestion would be to try and work in one more tone/shade in for contrast.
