how do these classes work. seeing as I am very interested in doing book covers, this class seems like a must. you pay for them then wait for the day then.....? Is it a downloaded movie? is it access to a live discussion and webcam?

They will use live streaming on Saturday, where you can watch Jon work and ask questions... no downloading, but you can re watch until 30 days after Saturday.

So, how will we be able to see it via 'On Demand' for the next 30 days or will you be using the new tech?

For anyone who is on the edge about taking this class, do it! Mr Foster is of course an awe-inspiring illustrator, but I took his portfolio review session with Carl Dobsky, and Mr Foster is an amazing teacher with a lot of insight to helping you improve your work.

I got my code. I love all the classes but I always have to be so selective with which one I'll buy. If only they were 50$ instead of 95 a class then I'd probably buy more... *sigh* - just thought I'd put it out there. Looking forward to Saturday nonetheless.

I would love to attend !!!
Is there any catch for viewers in Europe (will the streaming still work properly, I don't want to pay 95 bucks for a unstable connection)
Can anyone tell me if they have experience with viewing in Europe (i'm in Belgium btw)
Thx in advance !

Hey! Sorry for not being online much that National Geographic illustration is still kicking my butt! But (hopefully) I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as well as having received some cool new projects, things I will be able to share when in process. I'm looking forward to working with you all and making (hopefully) some good art.
To any of you from BYU Holla! There's allot of talent roaming around on campus.

After the streaming class is done you have the ability to re-watch it on-demand for 30 days.
As for the time difference you should be able to google that.

There is a countdown clock in the store and on the page that hosts the video.
That should help you figure out exactly when you need to be there.

I'm pretty new to this site all in all, and to tell the truth, it's so big that I have no idea what direction is up or down here. :[ While I understand a little bit about the streaming classes, Jason does say that the "Art of Composition" can be downloaded. This tells me that it's available to be bought somewhere, but where? The conceptart shop does not have the composition course available, and I just checked it. I know it was a streaming class, but I did not have the money at the time. Now I do, and would love to pay for the download if I can, but is it available? Or only available for those who 'buy' the bookcover course? Any information is appreciated.

You are right about there being a composition class a while ago, but now they have a downloadable version available. It is in the downloadable section of the site. Here is the direct link to where you can purchase it (http://store.payloadz.com/details/771263-Video-Educational-Jason-Manley-Composition.html). You can purchase this one alone if you like, without the bookcover class.
Hope that was clear, if not give a little shout I'll explain better ;)

Thanks, Hive! Wow, I would have never found that link on my own. I noticed the seller is MassiveBlack, should I have looked in their store first perhaps? I know the two companies have a heck of a lot of overlap, which is why this site is a bit confusing sometimes. Nothing wrong with that, just takes a bit of getting used to it. :) Okay, just to make sure, for a measly 30 bucks I get a 3-HOUR program? Sounds almost too good to be true..!

Yeah, definitely the best lecture that I've seen so far... Jon (and George Pratt on the chat) pretty much reminded me what are the most important aspects of being an artist, things that I almost forgot while doing all the "shiny" commercial artwork... I've got much to think about now... Also getting to know Jons process was very interesting.
I think I'll watch it on demand like a 100 times ;)
Thanks a lot for this lecture Jon and huge thanks to George for sharing his knowledge on the chat!!!

Thank you Jon!!! Great work. I really appreciate the time and effort. I will be pushing this through some other channels to be sure it gets out in the world. This is a real opportunity for everyone and I am thankful for your participation. I remember speeding down to comicon and being nervous to ask you to join us on CA and back then I had no idea we would ever see this kinda stuff. Thanks a lot. Really. CA would not be the same without your support.

Art of Business contains a huge amount of info VERY usefull if you want to work safer in the business, but the compositin one has to be my choice of the day- a lot of the things Jason talk about make sense or you have heard people hint at it, but never like this, not so complete and not in such depth. Haven't gone through all of it yet, the crash course is next...
So in short- Pick the composition one, you win on that one!
