Great work everybody!

I was thinking about the transformers movie from the 80's with these colors that I used. I wanted to create an intricate and epic city platform. With gravity low there would be no real specific order in which the city was built. -

-Lighter materials would allow the city to float.

-Industrial, finacial & residential would be intertwined.

He played with the 3 required keywords "Planet" "Gas" "Capital-huge city" really well and with just one look we know that its a huge city on a gas Planet.Though i would liked to see some more "smokes" and gas from the planet.
I liked the background of space, superb work..!

I voted fuseboy, his design was the best and quite unique in this battle. The downspiraling of the whirl is impressive, one of the pics that depicted "gas planet" best in my opinion.

I failed to recognize this was a multivote, unfortunately. I would have voted Stinger88 as well, if that doesn't scream "capitol city" then I don't know. Badger's entry is a little off-topic I guess, but still looks really nice and original. no_name_brand has nice design going on, colors could be a little more interesting tho. guilefine rocked the show this round, really impressive vista, so much going on. A little loose perhaps, but that's just fine.

Still, fuseboy's design won the show for me. Great round, I'm looking forward to the new one!

I can't understand why badger's not doing better, it's on-brief and really beautiful! It has a Dinotopia sort of feel to me, or perhaps vaguely steampunk.

Badger: Well not exactly off-topic, but when I think "gas planet", I most likely see Jupiter and other gas giants. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_giant) If I read your image right, there's actually some kind of waterfall?

My point being, your's is by far most distant to the common scheme of a "gas planet". I love your painting, but as some said, it reminded me of Dinotopia-like world rather than my sense of a gas planet. No offense ;)

Ah, i see, nah it's floating in the atmosphere, i should have copied my text from the other thread:

'Anyway here is mine, I can't imagine a gas planet's capitol being very big, so i thought of a large trade port where the capitol is part of a refinery creating valuable fuels from the atmospheric gases. Mine is a dual suspended space elevator with some lighter than atmosphere gas pods as an emergency measure.'

And if you saw a waterfall i better get back to working on my painting :S
