Is there going to be a specific list of what's on sale or is it everything?
Deals on streaming classes? Is this regarding and up and coming class or any specific recordings? I've been hearing and reading 2 different sides of the story about the classes being available at some point. Apologies if this has been answered already.

either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what's available. :)

Has the sale actually begun? I'm looking at the download section and it doesn't seem to reflect any kind of sale. The prices seem to be about the same.

I might actually buy something this time around. But regarding the streaming classes, are they only viewable online? I have my big ass computer in my studio, and that one doesn't have an internet connection. This one has a 7" monitor and doesn't handle streaming video very well.. Besides, if I spend $200 on learning material I'd really like to be able to come back to it and reference it in the future. Is it illegal to screen cap the whole thing and save it to your hard drive (for yourself only of course)?

All but a couple of our most recent releases are marked down and they should you up as the correct price in the cart, but not on the webpage. If you're having a problem you can email or pm me.

Don't know anything about painting software, and the bundle is for all the previous classes, not anything in the future.

Erm... touchy territory. They're meant to be thought of as live lectures more than videos. I'll look into it.

Got a question.

For the streaming videos. Even if we buy them, will they still be gone by the 1st of October?

I'm asking this cuz my hand is broken and I can't draw much, my cast comes off after October the 10th or something and when I buy these streaming videos I want to be able to actually apply everything I learn as soon as possible and of course be able to get back to it during my own time to re-watch it.

So yeah, are they yours to keep after you buy them or will they just disappear after the 1st?

Thanks

not sure if the following suggestion is inline with MB's effort or take on education, maybe a low-quality video is available for subscriber to download after the 30 days or the streaming ends. that way, the audio files are retain and video serves as mental reminder and only useful for those who'd watch the high-quality streaming. but then again, if the classes will be re-conducted in future, maybe with improve "syllabus" etc and reduced scale pricing for "re-visiting" students would solve that?

edit: live classes are great, apart from the time zone (11hours difference) difficulty in staying awake during the 2am to 7am hours, its also difficult to maintain concentration span that long, for me anyway, i usually get over excited and run out of steam about 2 hours into the classes. the streaming videos are great for me. but anyway to revisit them or when i'm at level than to appreciate the classes better, i get to join the new classes on the same topics in near future with discounted price would also be beneficial.

These guys at MB are the only guys that are doing this for us folks who can't just go out and take an art class in LA. Its a real help for all of us worldwide. If anybody downloads a torrent and steal from these guys or hurt this set up they are trying to build they are really cutting their own leg off from quality material that will make them better. I know money is an issue, I'm unemployed from my concept job too. Freelancing hard, I know the value of a buck. But the more I buy these videos the better informed I get about portfolios, painting tech., color theory, comp., they are write off... its like getting a discount on top of this discount. AND it will will get us all work in the future if we take the stuff seriously. Its worth the money to learn. You'll get paid for this kind of knowledge later. Not hating...please know that... just a humble thought. Good luck to everyone.

However, if there is a video heavily discusses or cover the topics of colors, color selections, lighting, shadows, etc. tell me. i might just get it, thanks...

Haha, thanks man. I didn't bother looking at those six courses. Hmm, I have a lot of thinking to do.

If I buy that course, I'll only have it for an limited time. But, it's probably once in a blue moon opportunity and it might be a course that could help me get to the level in art. It sucks if I get that course, I probably won't be able to buy the other videos.

those are the MAIN topics, and trust me. Jason really goes and explains it.

Haha okay, I'm sold. Thanks Hive_minD & Liffey.

I'll definitely buy the "color theory live stream class" either tonight or tomorrow. I want to check if I have enough money in my bank account first. But hey, if I can learn AND support my fellow CA artists at the same time, I'd love too.

I'm excited for this class. I really want to learn the basics. And this is one of my few and only opportunities to get a comprehensive course or lesson on color and lighting. Not only that, the class with disappear for good after Oct. 1st.

Unfortunately, that means I will not buy the other videos, but they can wait, hopefully. lol.

Anyways, two more questions for anyone who wants to reply back to me:
1) Can I view this class (rerun) as many time as I want until Oct. 1st?
2) Can I skip throughout span for the course or stream? I think my mind will be roasted sitting there watching that course 6 hours straight.

Any of you still on the fence about those classes- I put myself in a really shaky financial position this month taking the color and composition lectures, and I dont regret it one bit. They're worth every fraction of a penny. Buy the Target brand bread. Those lectures were a steal at full price, there's no excuse to skip them now.

Can somebody tell me how long does the order review/verification take? Its been over 15 hours now and there is still no available download link/button in the order tracking page.

If i click on the "You can always find out the current status of your order by going to - http://..." link it still says:

* This order is pending review.
* Note: Your order is pending review. You will not be able to download items until your order is reviewed and approved. Please contact us if you have any questions.

as given by another user (LostFayth), here's an online application to test connection speed http://www.speedtest.net/ though i dont know where are the respective servers are located for the various downloads.

Go to livestream.com and click around on the videos...if you click the ones that stream about livestreams service those are in HD and will show u what to expect. I run a bit smaller than HD to help be sure we keep it running smoothly but that should show u.

I bought Nox's and Dan dos Santos' vid, I was able to download Nox (2 part) and only one part for Dan's vids, which is 5 part. I wasn't able to download the other part due to poor internet connection, I always get "timed out" message on my download.

urg, thanks for the head up man. I was just going to get it too!! I deposited my some cash into my credit card yesterday.

alright!! well hopefully the guys @ Massive Black can resolve this by tonight, if not, I'm probably going to buy Whit Brancha's Environment Speedpaint Volume 1 and Jason Chan's Character Design. AND MAYBE Whit Brancha's Snow Mountain.

I'll be on the look out, hopefully it'll get resolved.

I bought the bundle and just went through them all to check things, because of what I read here:

The "Environment Design" lecture seems to be missing a section, the earliest section starts at 3:41.

The "Art of Composition" doesn't seem to work with the link provided, but in that thread on the second page is a link from "Davi" which does work =)

The "Portfolio Development" also seems to have an issue where the on-demand won't show up. To fix it, click on the navigation links above the post to get to the forum dedicated to it, then click on the thread for the presentation again, and it should show up.

I'm using the latest version of "Chrome" with the flash fully updated and things work fine. Though sometimes there's a glitch and you have to refresh (but thats just livestream being finicky)... also, having two threads with the stream embedded causes issues so make sure you close the one you're watching before moving to the next. The menu for on-demand has oldest material at the top, so start there.

I didn't immediately see any other sections missing, but I didn't go through it all of course =P

Hope that helps!

There are no current issues with color theory. I can see all. If you are using an older browser or chrome there may be bugs based on your configuration. Please try the most recent firefox and you should have no problems. This course has not been down.

I bought six videos, hopefully it was a worthwhile investment. At the price I guess it was worth a chance given how popular they seem to be.

I haven't seen it, but that missing section was most likely just Jason getting livestream working or getting his notes in order. If it's only missing 3:41, I wouldn't worry about it. Also I've been using the Composition stream with no problems at all.

I just went back and checked again, in case I'd missed something or it was organised oddly, but I don't think so. It would be an odd time to start the stream and it goes straight into questions, skimming the remainder of it doesn't seem to hold the lecture material as described either... guess the only way to be sure is to ask though, so I'll be doing that.

I'm having trouble getting paypal and createspace to load...
Paypal is only coming up with a white screen.
Createspace isn't loading.

Edit: As soon as I posted this, paypal and createspace worked again

Buying some of these tutorials while they're on sale is the least I can do to thank CA + Massive Black for everything these forums have done for me! Thank you!

BY THE WAY: There is a problem with the Carl Dobsky Perspective Part Two link. - It takes you to the payloadz page instead of adding it to the cart/showing cart.

Do you love me Jason Manley? I decided to go buy your "live" stream course - Color and the Theory of Light. lol.

No, but seriously, I've been watching your course for an 2hrs now, and I gotta say, I'm loving it so far. Thanks for making the course man. I can already tell it's going to be worth the investment.

Unfortunately, I have a busy week, but I'll be sure to make some free time this weekend to sit down and thoroughly watch it.

Just purchased the lecture series package at the last minute. I debated about it all weekend and how I really don't have the extra cash (kids just went beack to school argh). The thing that put me over the edge was thinking that if anything else I'll be supporting the community and helping this site to continue on. Thanks guys!

The only downside I see is if I have enough time before October 1st to get through all the streaming videos. Other than the streaming version will there be a downloadable version to review later? Can understand if you don't so that you can control what ends up out there on the net.

Again everyone, Thank You!

I tried to pay for one of the streaming tutorials for $45 this morning on my pay day but it said 90 has the special closed?

Went to the public library today. My laptop wouldn't connect to their network, even though it was visible and I had the password. Old lady working the desk had no idea what was going on. Barely computer literate. All public laptops were checked out.

I've bought a few downloads (very very little info I did not already know). I'm sorry you are not more interested in acknowledging or serving returning customers.

Man, don't blame CA for not giving you a sale whenever you feel like you want a sale. Sucks that you weren't able to make it, but shit like that happens, and you can't blame it on CA. It's extremely gracious of them to have had this sale at all.

Liffey, you need to re-read what I wrote. I don't care about the sale. My problem is with the streaming format which I simply can not get a fast enough connection to use. The price is not an issue - I would have bought the color theory class at the original $100 price if I could get it as a download.

Hello there, I bought Shawn Barber foundation painting less than a month ago and I love it! I have watched it 3 times already and learn a lot from it, from your trailers it does looks like other downloads I’m interested on are as good (Dan dos Santos, and Donato Giancola amongst others I’m interested) problem is, fees ad up!
Are you planning on a Christmas sale?, or..
do you have any special discounts for not so old clients planning on spending more mula in your lovely products?

Dan Dos Santos and Donato Giancola are both top notch downloads! They worth the full price for sure so if there won't be any christmass discount don't be afraid to spend the money for this 2 dl because they're killer!!!
