Ok, what is the major difference between Photoshop 7 and Photoshop CS? Anybody have it? Is it worth the upgrade? Is this technically photoshop 8 or just 7.5? Slightly confused by the title.

Thanks for the input!:D

It does have some nice new features, but is it upgrade worthy? Not really. Just depends if you want the new features.

If you haven't already, have a look here.

The ones that sound the coolest are

. 16bit colour. When more apps use this it woll be fantastic for image editing.
. Layer Comps. Would be really useful.
. Customisable Keyboard Shortcuts. FINALLY!

It is more aimed towards Graphic Designers than Artists. I will be getting it in a few weeks as it comes included in the Adobe Video Collection. Otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded.

Be warned that some users (ahem , OK, me and every one else who uses After Effects) are pretty upset about both Photoshop CS and Illustrator CS in terms of how they "transport" to other apps (yes, even other Adobe apps like AE).

Admittedly, I have had no problems between PS CS and Painter 8.

I've not upgraded yet, and won't for a while.

Just IMO,
