RANDOM DUNGEON CHALLENGE
Welcome to the glory of the Random Dungeon Challenge. Random because, being human and being notoriously bad at keeping deadlines, I decided new topics will be posted AT RANDOM. Ie. When I have time.
The Dungeon Challenge is simple. A description will be provided of a dungeon in the D&D tradition (Although not limited to fantasy) with the names of several creatures found within, and two bosses.
You will then proceed to select 3 things to draw from this Dungeon. You could draw three of the monsters named, 2 views of the dungeon from outside and a boss, two bosses and a monster, etc. You must produce three drawings. You are welcome to do more and may curry extra praise by doing so (but dont push it!). These drawings can be in any medium: Chalk, digital, pencil, marker, watercolour, cave painting, sculpture, or even animation and graffiti art. BUT. They must show clearly what you are depicting, they must show all the creature (If you are drawing one) or boss. However, you could do a drawing of say, the throne room in a palace, and while not obligated to show it all, you are kindly asked to draw a reasonable amount. No microscopic scribbles! There is no deadline, no judging, no pressure. The point here is to expand outwards and widen the boundaries of your imagination, to push at the cliches surrounding us and make something NEW.
Good luck.
TOPIC:
In the Black Waste, deep in the Glass Sands, there stands the Palace of the Iron Djinn. He is a fearful beast hewn in metal and smouldering coals, horned and ruby-eyed, smoking and growling at the world around him. He sits on a throne of Steel and Flame, and surveys his golden kingdom. The Palace itself is a wonder. Spun in glass, gold and platinum, carved from finest marble glinting in the blistering gaze of the sun. Yet his rule has twisted it. No longer do its halls echo with laughter and joy, run with wine and riches. Now it is silent excepting the snorting of the Djinn. His subjects tramp blindly, skeletons burning with never-quench flames. They were noblemen once, hoarding gold and riches, obsessed with its beauty in their gimlet eyes. Among them ruled the Sultan, more besotted of gold then any other. Calling up his magicians, he bade them call a Djinn, a fiery Afrit to him, that he might order it to cast the world in his yellow desires. In a crack of blood and shattered glass, the Iron Djinn, master of metals, was called from his ironclad fortress over the molten seas. He gazed at this greedy wretch, and laughed a deep, black laugh, one in which hope drowned and birds fell from the skies. He turned to leave, and found himself bound there by rowansmoke and oldspeak. He waxed wroth at this imprisonment, and belched forth an ocean of gold which coated the palace, hardening in places, molten in others. The nobles became his smelted minions, their bones shot with iron and their beloved gold. Their coins rose up and became men of metal that walked in fire and spoke in rusted words. The whole desert for miles around baked into smooth glass.
And the Djinn pumped the sultan with molten gold so full he bulged and wailed, until he too fell silent. He sat upon his new throne, and looked upon his boiling, darkened kingdom.
And he thought it good.
BOSSES: The Iron Djinn, The Forsaken Sultan
CREATURES: Living Hoard, Molten Bones, Steel Chimera, Copper Devil
LOCATIONS: Throne of Iron, The Golden Halls, The Glass Desert

Good luck everyone, with the first challenge! Many more hopefully to come. If you have a suggestion, PM me. Feel free to PM with any qs as well. Just post the finished artwork with a short message to say this is your final submission. Also you are encouraged to share WIPs and critic eachother. I hope to join in myself!
