Ok so this is what I've come up with so far:
Obviously its still a work in progress so any feedback you want to give on how I can develop this image would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
:EDIT:
This is now the third attempt at actually getting an image out and this is the result so far:
:EDIT:
Ok so this is now the final version and as far as I can judge, it's finished...finally ^_^
Thoughts, comments and crits are all welcome! :)

Ahhh I can see now. I like the idea and it looks like the execution will be very good. Great start just need to see the robot form intergrated into the piece now.

It seems as i get half way through one idea I decide that I don't like it, it's not going anywhere and all in all is a bit pointless carrying on and go right back to the drawing board.
I'm sure we've all been there so you know how frustrating it is so I'm hoping this ones going to be 3rd time lucky.
I'm not going to bother with my 2nd attempt because its a hole in a building. i just couldn't get the rest of my idea to fit (basically having half rendered drawings rampaging around a city). If you want to see it i guess I can put up a pic at some requests.
So here's the new one and so far i still like it! Good news! lol
anyway i plan to have a character that starts under the hand as a drawing and forms to a figure either pulling itself off the page or trying to crawl away. Not sure which yet.:lounge:

Nice start. That's the first thing I would draw if what I drew came to life :).
I think you'll really need to push this idea as much as possible as I think many people would have had a similar "pygmalion" idea from the topic. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, but to distinguish it I think you'll need to find something extra to make it special - like a twist of some sort.

It's finally starting to come together! There's still a long way to go yet, I'm going to cover the pages of paper with loads of doodles and sketches out of my sketchbook some of which will also be coming to life and then for the colour! totally not looking forward to that bit because it the bit I'm most wobbly on so we'll see how that works out. Hopefully its going to be nice and bright

Update purge! I'm trying to keep a bit of a development journal so this is the latest edit so far. The last one (thought submitted about 2 mins before this one) was the sort of 'in between' stage from the one before. I'm sure you understand.
I've started to get the rest of the details in. There's still a long way to go though.
C&C welcome :)

i really love the concept & the painting, don't get bored, you have to finish it, i can see this is gonna be a beautiful piece. all it needs now is some lighting (espaicially on her face, it seems a bit dark) and a bit of detailing.
i've got my eye on this thread

Really liking it so far Scott, so miycko is right, you're just not allowed to get bored. Finish it man. It will be worth it - honest.

It's the other drawings in the stack under the main drawing that really complete this piece for me.

Looking great doodlebug. Personally I think you can do more blending to tighten up the overall artwork so it looks more refined. :)

It is a nice idea and well drawn.
But I think you could add more details.
I think you can push it to the next level! ;)

Ok so there's still a few things I'm noticing that are slightly off with this which I'm working on.
I keep adding little bits as well, bits of detail etc. I'm really having a lot of fun with this one and I have to say it's one of the few in my gallery that I'm truly proud of :)
Anyway this is it so far: just need to fiddle with the colour and tone, some fiddling with the highlights on the bottom of the hand and then I think I'm pretty much done.
If there's anything you guys notice could you let me know please?
All c&c welcome :)

... your colourtuning and style.
I'd only admit to take care of her eyes; they seem to be a bit far apart ... somehow. But that's just my opinion when first viewing this.
Nice work nevertheless ;)
