Hey, thought i'd post a new painting here and see what people think-its just a personal piece. Had the original Ghost recon games plus some other FPS's in mind with this one.
Head over to my DA if your interested in some more stuff or wanna check out progress on the concepts for the Dear Esther mod for HL2.
Thanks for viewing!

looks pretty good. But you have some composition problems i think. You have two main focal points. the road through the trees and the building. They don't seem to let the eye flow through the painting. I think the building and background atmosphere is a much stronger focal point and you could probably do away with the road and shift the picture to the right and show more background. good stuff overall though.

Thanks yeah i kinda didnt have a very strong plan for what turned out to be quite a finished piece, i should have stepped back from it more than i did. Interesting about shifting the image-maybe ill cut it in two and make two paintings.

I agree with sPCLaW, to be honest though, the road could actually be seperated and made into a different piece. I also feel that for an outdoor scene with good light, your heavily shadowed areas are too dark. It draws a lot of attention and with such wonderful painted textures on the building, the heavy shadows shouldn't detach from that. Also, if possible, how about some light through the trees? If done with subtlety, might add some more life into your luscious forest. :)
