Hi people,
You can follow the step by step and the development of my others ideas here under.
But you could also see the final of my Zombie Show:

Ok,
So the idea is to create Prehistoric man or different people...
This is the first one, I will see how I manage them after...
They will be around water in a strange situation.

I have another step.
Riddick
July 6th, 2009, 04:55 AM
I have other updates.
The idea of this painting is:
The Darwin evolution is not really a reality. In fact a meteor crashes in water and bring to life human form as we know today. Of course it is a personal fantasy.
I love to draw metamorphosis, fleshy thing, so I will make them look like if they change of appearance the more they are emerging from the water, the more they change.
So…I have decided to make something which looks a little like fine Art, like a classical.
There is water, origin of life…fire, with the volcano, wind symbolized by smoke and a cloudy sky.

Thanks Jatherit for your comment.
I am also impatient to achieve the piece but I want to make something very detail and well made, so I take my time.
Here is a new shot of my apes man. They are not finished yet, it is truly a base.

Hey Riddick. Like the way this is going. Nice modelling happening on your figures.
I wonder if our caveys are from the same tribe?
Riddick

Hello Nickillus and thanks for your words.
I have decided to stop this paint.
I think you will never know if there is any similarities with your cave people.
But this paint do not really looks like my usual work and I am not happy with this.
SO I have another subject...The born of zombies.
I will make them looks more strange than these usual figures!
I promise.
Here is a small look of the quite valley.
There is a strange green tornado which bring something weirdo to this cemetery.

Ok! Once again I will add to the garbage this idea.
I think I have good zombie sketches, I will keep them for another time!
Now I have my idea! It took me time to find the good one but I have the good one now!!
I will make a fleshy paint! With the arrival of a new human. More mixed, more beautiful...

Here is the first step.
I will work on this base in photoshop and add details and other shapes around.
I really would love to show a patchwork of different people from different part of the world.
Have different tones of flesh.
I will certainly make small vegetations around. It is not the essential right now, so I will focus on the bodies.
It is not really easy to show people make love, and to do not show any sex.
I made them all eyes closes, because I would like to show them very zen, like if they were in a dream, an ideal of the situation.
There is only the black pregnant woman who has her eyes open, because she shows the way for a new life.
The little kid is not a baby; it is my volunteer to show a young boy with a lot of capabilities. Strong enough to take care of himself.
I also would like to create a small girl. She invites him to going all over the world...
I think about a pose for her.

i liked the previous concepts better. The last one is interesting but somewhat abstract, i can tell its mainly about love but the the topic is not love, its newborn.
I kinda like the zombies, how about a cool scene with Frankenstein making a new crazy life form?

RANDIS,
Finally you gave me some doubt.
I was not sure if this new concept was really interesting and fun..
So I have decided to back on the Zombie painting.
There is a strange robot which spray a very weird liquid on this small old cemetary...
Here is the cast.
I have few other guys, but I will manage them first.

your first idea with the apes was interesting but it might have been hard to execute, the second idea i think is a bit too abstract and it not really on-topic.
I really like your zombies idea, i think it's an interesting take on the the theme, i'm sure you're gonna add some more zombies, waiting for updates
Riddick
July 16th, 2009, 06:02 AM
Miycko< Thank you for your words.
Yes I will add few other zombies..certainly more "grotesque and gigantic" than the first ones.
I hope to make something visually strong.
Small update:

yaya i like the new one! Give me a chainsaw now!
That robot in the background looks a bit out of place imo. I think 1-2 scientists with rubber cloves and old school bio protection suits spraying gas would fit better here but thats just my personal taste.
The graveyard could be like a garden.

RANDIS< I really do appreciate your work and I have to say thank you for your advices.
I often change my composition during the process.
In photoshop everything is possible, so I never hesitate.
Your idea to add some guys is interesting. But I really prefer to keep this newborn only on these zombies.
I do not want to create a confusion between them and other humans.
It took me a lot of time but I think I finally found the good brush touch to make them.
I have also decided to make some morph on them.

Here is another update.
I have made some change on the sky...I will work again on the moon soon.
I also made few changes on the old guy at the left and I played with smoke effects.

This painting evolved a lot.
It is rare that I doing so many changes on my composition.
But I think I have found the good one now.
I have to create more zombies, more depth and I think I will make few color changes on the robot.

Once again a new step.
There is few new Zombies.
I think I have a good visual now.
All the process will be now to add details and smoke...to create a stronger atmosphere to homogenize the paint.

not sure if my comp is just for some reason not uploading all of hte picture as there does seem to be a lot of space from where the pictures is being cut off on my screen and the end of your post.
Here is what I am seeing if this isnt correct then disregard this whole thing
The first posted pic (im guessing current wip) and the post above this pic shows teh nice sky background, the church, the robot, some graves and the zombie (which in previous posts you called your main character or focal point zombie the "black" as you put it zombie) is cut off at the stomach.
and no lady on all fours with dangling breasts....
now if it isntbeing displayed properly for me then just disregard this...
put those zombies back in...
and never cut off a character at major segment lines like, knees, waist, neck, ankles... etc etc
You seem to know what you are doing, so I am guessing this is actually a problem on my end not yours...
anyway, good luck, coming along nicely

Yes there was a problem on my latest update.
This new version is better.
I added at the first plan, one of my old zombies. I made the three first at an high rez and I can add them where I want.
There is few trees to bring more life.
I still have to make their flesh creepier, make some bones..derelicted things.
And also a lot of green smoke effects.

the zombie piece looks cool but the backround seems a little flat. I'd suggest adding more color variation. You could also make the light from the machine warmer.
Riddick
July 25th, 2009, 06:22 AM
Josif< Thanks!! I also love them!
Artina< I knew that I will make a lot of smoke effects all around the ground. That is why I did not spend too much time on it.
Here is another step. I still have to work on the ground at the left..and also to play with some clouds and maybe other effects on the machine.
I will certainly post close up soon of my different zombie faces.

Cool, getting more and more interesting with every update.
Will you add some cropped zombies on the sides too? coz now they are all forced to be in the visible area.
Love the clouds and the BG.
very curious to see the final image.
it would be great concept for Micheal Jackson thriller video
yep... too late tho...

Wakoes, Bdbros and Randis,
Thanks for your word.
Yes finally it does looks like a Thriller scene. I did not realize this before.
I always enjoy the light of all this eighties creepy movies.
But it was not intentional to make something which reminds the Thriller video clip.

So,
I certainly have my Final here. Your comments are welcome.
I added details everywhere, there is also few changes on the first Zombie portrait.
I played more with the green smoke to have more depth. And there are also few changes in the sky, and also on the church.
It is the final:
