I was just wondering if anyone knows of any tutorials/reference of how to draw ellipses in perspective with ellipse guides? It was something that I did years ago but can't remember a thing about now.

Do you mean circles in perspective? If so they are always still perfect elipses one of the strange properties of circles. trad perspective can't handle circles especialy at the edge of the picture. The principles for correcting this were worked out by Filippo Brunelleschi in 1400. Whoops that came out a bit erudite jeez.... and even probably the wrong answer!

Try the Drawthrough.com tutorial that rsslonen linked to. I just read it a few weeks ago and it's well written and concise. It should get you well on your way.
