I enjoy looking @ everyone's artwork on this site, goodjob.

I'd like to get back into being an artist....I have the talent I just newer really worked on it.... I dont have a scanner so I cant show you any of my "artwork", but I was wondering where I can start for the basic beginner artist & work from there...... I enjoyed Jester's hand study.....Greatjob Jester!...

I'd also like to learn some new forms of art along the way....can anybody help me please......

:: Thanks.....OzMa ::

I think that's fairly common. That's how it is for me, at least.

The first thing you should do is get a sketchbook and a pencil. Draw in it everyday, whatever you feel like. Then you should learn to see things as they really are. You can do this through a lot of practice, or you could read Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards.

You can do the Middle Class assignments.
Maybe there's not much for you yet ... depending on what your level is.

But reading in the threads that exist there might give you some ideas.

There's some theory that every artist should know ...
I'd learn these things too
(as opposed to: just drawing, drawing and drawing)

There are links to other sites and threads for example ...
just make sure you see all the threads,
not only those that have been updated during the last 30 days.

Thanks for the help guys.....I have 2 drawing books "How to draw cartoons" & "How-to-draw Animal's", I've looked at them both but I'm not very interested in them.....Know any other books I can get.

I'm a teenager & dont have a job so do you know if I can checkout books @ the local library?

Thankyou. OzMa
