Can you help us?


I know many of you have accounts on the various internet artist hangouts, gathering spots, and the like. CA is in the middle of raising money for the new tech and equipt and we would like to ask if you would be so kind as to spread the love around here with some posts and links on the various sites around this amazing internet. One of the comments we got about the downloads was improving marketing and making sure people know about the videos. I thought perhaps the community would help if there was a reward at the end of it too.

ca members that make five posts on different sites/forums and pm's me the links gets a free download of their choice. include your email addy with the links.

plz check to be sure there are no double posts. good deeds should not go without reward. Double posts won't count though!!!!

If you have a moment to spread some links to help CA, we would sooooo appreciate it. If so, please link them to the threads here in the downloads forums and not the media.mb site. This way everyone can see the comments to help them decide whether or not to get it. If you don't mind posting one of the images from the thread, blog, or site, that would be awesome...anything will help.


Anyway...we are workin buns off to keep this place moving forward and any extra help would be hugely appreciated. If we have our way the entire net would know. Can you help us?

Ideally we will start with the latest vids...and just go down from there. If you do post, please check where you are posting to be sure the same video is not already posted there. Super super super thanks. Truly.

Thank you...all we need help with is to simply say hey this vid is out...check it out...ya know..to help raise awareness. you can right click any image on the forums and select properties...the link for that image will show up there...just post any pic and then post the link to the thread here in the downloads forums...is nothing complex..just a post like you made here but with a link to an image or at least the link to the thread.

I'd suggest for others to for the same, maybe posting in established threads. If people are introduced to the CA downloads by a new thread that's quickly locked it may not be the best advertising.
Yes, don't be stupid, folks. We want to get the word out, but you know how annoying we find spam here. Don't go creating new (or even worse, multiple) accounts on boards you're not regularly on just for this. Let people know the way you might let a friend know about something cool IRL.

I posted on RPG-forums, in areas regarding learning to draw or paint. Usually people on those parts of RPG-forums ask me how I manage to paint as well as I do and I usually tell them "I'm crap, but I got better because of CA", so posting something like this was deemed to be helpful :)

I agree with Arshes Nei about the twitter account. At the company I work for we get major bumps on our online promotions from Twitter and Facebook. This place is ready made for twitter. Tweet out particularly badass posts, here and on other website. Keep people engaged even when they're not on the forum. Then when you release a video announce it through all the channels. It helps that you have actual interesting content to send out as well, not just marketing BS.

Also, I don't use twitter myself, but I hear it's the next big hing since the wheel, so I guess the people who suggested it have a point.
If MB/CA would have a facebook account I'd be following that drooling...plus, you can put up rss-feeds to new videos there, that will be quite good as far as ads go.

Anyway, mainly- thanks for the downloadable, it was really no problem doing this and now I'm off to bed since it's late over here...

What we do at my company is send out just a few tweets a day so that people don't feel like we're spamming them. We, of course, reply to any messages that require it. They're generally any events we have going on, contests, links that our customers might find interesting, etc... It doesn't have to be something that's on this site either, say Irene Gallo says something interesting on her blog, ArtOrder has something nice up, or James Gurney makes a helpful post, send out a link.

I see that there is a Facebook group for conceptart.org, but it's not very active. They also have an option to set up a business page, which are much more like personal profiles than the groups, except that people don't have to be logged into facebook and be your "friend" to see them.

This allows for bringing in content via rss from youtube, blogs, flickr, twitter, etc... So you upload a preview video to youtube, it's automatically pulled into the facebook page and it shows up in all of your fans' notifications. You don't really have to create any new content for facebook, it's more of an aggregator.

You've already got over 900 fans in a facebook group that sees little activity and is not promoted. Considering that your fanbase is already entirely on the internet and the products you are trying to sell are on the internet and don't require the disconnect of going to the store to get it, I'd say you are primed to really take advantage of the tools that are at your disposal.

Ugg, I generally loathe the social-media marketing douchebags. Here I am sounding like one of them.

ps: I putted a link up on my twitter account, plus some random forums (not all art reladed tho) and i've put out a little sign on the wall in our art class for other students so that they know that these awesome vids exist over here at conceptart.org and massive black, they reacted exited.

How about sponsoring (with downloads) some contests OUTSIDE of CA? I know Artorder (http://artorder.blogspot.com/) was looking for prizes for their contest winners and they do have a large following of pro and amateur illustrators and I'm sure other places with a large following but no educational resources of their own would be grateful and reciprocate with exposure and good comments.

I'm trying to think of a non-tacky way of letting influencial people like James Gurney know about the vids (he does visit schools and comment about their methods of teaching.)

we have a ca myspace page...i think you are clearly having some fun so I dont want to spoil it but do you want to help on the existing page already? Lots of people already there so might be faster to work with. Is up to you...

Once you are down having fun I will offer some feedback. I would suggest dropping in a bunch of workshop photos and such so its not pure promotion and people can get a sense of who the community is if they find the profile.
