Hey everyone,

A friend showed me this forum a month ago, and I have been drooling over some of your pics for a while now :) (in a good way, not in an icky way)

So today I found out that there is also an animation section :)... hurray!!! long live the animators :)

THIS is my first post on this site.. I am an animator with a fondness for drawn animation :) .Although my films are drawn entirely digitally (with my trusty wacom), I like to make it look like its hand drawn. I just love those wobly lines!!

without further bla bla bla:

Here is my student film wich I made a couple of years ago:) I made it especially for people who are suffering from an artist block... so this might help you :)

software used: TVpaint.

10 ways to get over an Artist Block:

and heres another thing I love! crazy freestyle morph animation:) used as a counting leader:

So hope you liked them.. feel free to advise/ critique them :) I still want to learn.

And now I will continue working on my next short film, wich will be completed in 2 months... so back to my dark cellar where i practice the dark arts of animation

:frustrated:!! 2 months to go :)

greetings and have fun.

nice work buddy, good sense of timing, nice solid drawing, great job playing with the camera and perspectives and showing off a bit. reminiscient of plympton but definitely your own style.

Greetings sir Applejuicer. Animation is a subject that's always been of great interest to me. Though I mostly went through a more character work development and never really animated anything, the process of bringing my creations to life's always been a fantasy. So I'm in the hopes of getting in an animation course this upcoming school year. These animations are really inspiring.
I love both of them, but the first one I thought was really striking. I too like the wobly lines from the traditional animation. Also your creativity shows itself really stunning. I love how literally you communicate each of those 10 steps - really amusing in a very good way.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Geweldig gedaan! Die morph animaties worden vaak in 3d gedaan, maar ontstaan als ongelukjes heb ik het idee. Dit is gewoon gecontroleerd :D Erg cool!

Groet,

Walid D - thank you man :) I've been checking out your animation sketchbook :) fun stuff, keep up the good work.

DanielBodinof - LOL thx buddy. Yeh I was really inspired by Bill Plympton on the first one (he is my idol), although I'd like to think I do more animating than him :).... my drawings arent as direct as his though and I do not animate a whole feauture film by myself

sato - Hello to you too :) Yeh with me its kinda the other way around, 've been spending all my time animating my film... so now I've forgotten what its like to work on one picture for a whole week :) .. its hard work bringing your characters to life , but in the end its worth it

batcustard - thank you

Jamsey - thanks man.. For my new animation I'm doing a Point of View camera walk of the main character.. real film, motion track, environment created in maya and then rotoscoping the 3d environment with camera move :)

jvdz - dank je wel hey :) waar studeer je CMD?

NEW STUFF

Here is some of my older stuff: two videoclips. The first one we made with our freelance collective APVIS (www.apvis.nl) for the band Razor Crusade (that has split up). The second one I made together with Tanja Beltman for a school project in collaboration with MTV and Brabant POP for the band judasville.

These were done with a very low budget, just to build up some experiende and portfolio material.

Coole clips man.

egerie - thx! jup bill is the man :)

Glibz - thank you! In one month I'll post my new film.. I am currently colouring it and adding the sound.

Unknown Soul - I studied animation in the netherlands at the st. Joost art academy in Breda. Its a really nice school with lots of friendly people and good teachers. I am cuurently studying for my masters degree in belgium at the KASK school in Gent (which focusses really on traditional hand drawn animation).

Rattus - thank you very much :) I'd like to ghet as much hits as possible on my films, so feel free to add them to your favs on youtube or something else.. that goes for everybody by the way. I make my films so people can see them :)
