Hi I'm new here, although I have known about the site for a while. I have just decided to take the step and put my work up. I really feel as though it's time to start getting some really good constructive critique on my work. I'd really appreciate critique and ideas for improving my proportions and anatomy, perspective, rendering (line work and photoshop painting), how I can make my characters appear more natural and how to make fabric fall naturally.

Thanks so much in advance, I really appreciate your thoughts:)

So here we go: Finished piece~ Bill and Bullseye from Oliver Twist

Looks great! My only criticism is that the feet look a bit cartoonish compared to the rest of the character. Pretty minor, really.

thanks for your comment! yes they probably do...I wanted to give the character a bit of exaggeration but perhaps I needed to add it to other areas also.;)

It is good to pick a level of exaggeration and stick to it throughout the picture. For instance, in this, Bill is kind of cartoony, while Bullseye is very realistic. Either one is okay, but they look kind of strange together in the same picture.

i think the large feet make the character look nice. maybe big hands to compliment them tho

yes i agree with you both there...I need to figure out where I want to go with my style..I like realistic looking comics/cartoons so that is where Im trying to head. When I re-evaluate this charac at some point I will re-work the dog and give it more character. Yeah and bigger hands!
