Was hoping that would sound a little better than just "Hi, I'm new here!" But that's what this post is. Just take the title as an understanding of my core existence, and we'll move on from there....
*ahem*
Hi. I'm new here. I got the link from Mac Hall Comics, and may this day forever remain blessedly lodged in my synaptic curves. Seriously, there is some extreme talent here. Let's hope I can one day compete, or at least not make myself look like a non-talented fool :D.
To give a little information about myself, I'm 32, female, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1995 with a BFA, concentration in painting and printmaking. Being something of a digital late bloomer, about a year ago I started playing MechWarrior 4 and got into the game's online community, where I managed to meet some folks that finally helped me get a breakthrough on Photoshop (I'm in the painful process of teaching myself, as my school, bless their paleolithic hearts, didn't even offer a digital art course of any kind when I was attending). So, needless to say, my efforts right now are elementary at best.
Aaaaany-how.... at the current moment I'm working as a designer for a sign company (please.... kill me. kill me now), drawing, painting pretty much entirely with watercolors and trying to eek what I can out of Photoshop when I'm not forum surfing or discovering the sneaky mysteries that is Ghost Recon, and trying to find web space that I can afford for my artwork. I have a *very* rudimentary site up over at Tripod, but I won't put any of you through that pain. I'll have proper space soon, so that I can post up work for critique.
Hoping for a warm welcome, and the chance to make myself cozily at home.
