Hello, I'm back from a very long time of inactivity at these fine forums.

I'm doing a seminar on Frank Frazetta Dec.2nd, and for a part of it I have to validate fantastic art as a "movement" or an art form/style. I have 2 books of Frazetta, that are wonderful, and ofcourse the vast information on his site, however I am missing resources that would help "validate" fantasy art. Yes there are many quotes/anecdotes in the books that are going to be helpful in proving this part of the argument, however any help people can offer would be appreciated.

Any opinions, and especially sites that argue the validity of fantasy, comic, and concept art would be very helpful. I have searched and am having trouble utilizing the meagre quotes I've found to prove my point. Afterall before I can explain to the class/teacher that Frazetta is an influential master painter, I must be able to prove the style he did is...well..."good". Thanks.

he'd be part of the Illustration movement. i'd lump any and all fantasy, sci-fi, horror, etc. art into that class (my opinion). he told stories with his paintings like the greats before him (pyle, wyeth, leyendecker, rockwell, etc....) he was influenced by them and he in turn influnenced bernie wrightson, brom and many others.

Ahh thank you. This helps. Searching for contemporary illustration could get better results. Perhaps I should search some of those names of people he influenced too? Thanks!
