I am starting a thread here to help this forum grow, and to help me get back in the swing of animating after a few months off. I also was looking into how to embed the animations here if anyone knows a good way other than youtube.

I hate all of the little added gimick things that youtube adds.
EDIT: Check out the difference between youtube and vimeo:
<object width="600" height="333"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2377129&server=vimeo.com&sho w_title=1&show_byline=0&show_portrait=0&color=ffff ff&fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2377129&server=vimeo.com&sho w_title=1&show_byline=0&show_portrait=0&color=ffff ff&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="600" height="333"></embed></object><br />

Nice action, 3D Max? :D
I haven't embed any video here yet, but why you want to change from YouTube?

I dont like what happens after the video clip ends.
It is Maya 2009

I see.
Haven't tried Maya before but the interface looks so similar with 3D Max, though my friends said that they're very different from each other.

Eheheh they are very different but in this case a grid is a grid is a grid :)
Bai Fan, this is great but I’m not too sure of the root movement at the end when he tilts backwards at passing to get back to his pose. Instead of falling downwards, perhaps it could go up and arc backwards to settle like you did. Also the upper body could compensate to keep him balanced (tilt hips right, curve spine left and contra posto the shoulders maybe?)
Man, it’s hard to crit and describe stuff in written form.. I wish we had Pixar’s application for criting! I’ll try to think of something for the future of this forum.
P.S.: For the youtube crapassery of shrinking the video at the end, you could loop your anim a couple of times? I just clicked to see it directly in youtube though.

Yea, I could. I was just hoping to post play blasts without having to take them into premier, but if that helps more. It will triple the file size though.
This forum doesn't have any mods yet. Do you know if they are looking for people? And how I would apply?

I found a streamer site that I like. Check out vimeo.com
Here is an example of the streaming video from their site. Quick to join, easy to upload and embed in your site. I am in love.
Here is one from a few years ago with me dressed as mega man.

Hey that's pretty cool :) The part where he steps back could be pushed in posing and timing a bit more, especially considering the scream he lets out.

It's really good !! for the last animation I find that the animation of the upper part of the body is awesome, especially when the guy is screaming, but I find that legs are a bit weird, especially at the end, when he is slowly walking ! Anyway, I wanna see more !

lol, the scream was great. People usually butcher screams, from what I've seen, by not correctly syncing with the the elasticity coming around the mouth. Not here though! Only "crit" I can give.
Vimeo is prety cool, but takes a pretty long time to upload, the rendering too. I do like it better than youtube 'specially the hd feature :D and...no 10min time-limit (I think).

I know we've had our words but I'm going to give you a solid crit anyways because I've been unfair to you in the past and I'd like to see you flourish.
There needs to be more power behind that kick. Have him pull further back while he's winding up the kick, bring him in closer for the contact and jerk him forward on the follow through.
His face needs more emotion going into the kick. bravery for the wind up, anger or frustration at the peak and excitement celebration or releif on the follow through leading to the surpise at the end.
I know animation is a different language than illustration but I understand the 3 act principal and you seem to have the right idea. Other than you need to push your actions much harder. Don't be affraid to go over the top.

I like it loads. Doesn't need more power because you're playing a wuss and wusses can't kick for toffee. This is fun - do more.
