Hi there. :)

I'm a 17 yo. guy from Norway, planning a mangaish :anime: comic, and I need a bit of help.

My biggest problem is drawing with ink and pen, since I've been drawing with pencil all my life. Is it possible to make a good comic with pencil? I've seen some comic artists do it, but most draw with ink.

My other question is what program to use to put on effects, or whatnot, on computer. I'd guess photoshop, but I'm no geek at those kind of programs, so if there are any better programs out there, I'd be happy to know

Cheers The Violinist :confident

There is no 'better' program, just one that you'll eventually feel most comfortable with.

Solid pencil comics tend to be realistic in terms of both figure and light, so the simplification of a manga style may not be as effective. Possible, but more difficult.

As for the inking, it's just like learning pencil - study, trial, and error.

good luck :)

You can always continue to use your pencil for rough drafts and then take a seperate sheet of paper, put it over a lightbox and trace over the pencil drawings in ink. Good luck!
