I'm a student majoring in engineering, and I'm constantly finding it more difficult to practice art. How do some of you balance study with art?

I'm architecture student and I learn art at the same time. To be honest I don't balance it much and switching between these two worlds distract me a lot.
Basicly the result is I suck at the university and at the same time I sacrifice several hours of sleep to draw some stuff. It's very destructive and makes you stay at home most of the time. Well. Can't help it. I just hope all this pain will pay off some day.

Heh. I'm studying engineering too. The solution, I think, is to be a recluse and spend all your time either working or drawing.
I'm honestly kind of enjoying it, though...just the process of discovering overlaps between the two disciplines seems rewarding to me. As long as you're passionate about both there shouldn't be a problem.

What type of engineering are you doing, civil, electrical, electronic, nuclear? All require a solid ground of reasoning, so what’s your reasoned excuse? Studying will take most of your time and you’ll have to fit art in when you can. Just make it meaningful when you can.
I work full time, have kids and still find time for art.

Schedule everything. Get your priorities straight, and that will dictate how much time should be allotted to each task.
