My self portrait, charcoal

I drew this a couple of months ago, Charcoal reductive self portrait from life. I'm kind of stuck at a level of realism that I can't really get past. I'm 19 and am starting to feel behind the game here in art school.I also need to work on expressions but this one was mainly done for proportions. Critiques would be greatly appreciated.

study the skull more. seems your lacking a solid bone structure and head mass. has a cool style to it though.
