What began as a small sketch video series now is a tutorial series in High Definition (HD)!

454953

It is made for comic fans and aspiring artists out there.

The best part: It is complete free of charge and you can embed the videos in your blog, website and so on. You also can download the original size videos at the vimeo site.

Because I only can upload 500MB each week you will have to wait for the second part of the 'Hellgirl' paint video until next week. Here are the links to the sketch video and part one (of two) of the paint video:

'Draw & Paint' - Hellgirl - Sketch Video (http://vimeo.com/1647657)

'Draw & Paint' - Hellgirl - Paint Video - Part 1 of 2 (http://vimeo.com/1663301)

The sketch video is shown in real time. The paint video is faster.

Please spread the word and use the image from above.

Have fun and drop me a line if you like the new series!

Best,

Chris

ijacobs9: Thx (again) :). I just have answered your PM... but will write the same info here for everyone else.

Djinn: Thank you! It is good to know this vids help you with your own work.

Here is the info on the brushes I have used:

Regarding the brushes I used a 2B Pencil brush in painter to sketch the character. This brush was modified a little so it is smoother... but you also can get the same effects by using a normal 2B Pencil brush with low opacity (around 20 to 30%).

The colors are done in photoshop with a tool preset from J. P. Targete but you can make this brush by using the hard round brush and give it a flow between 15 and 30% so you can use the pressure from your tablet to add more color by pressing the pen harder.

I am working with a Wacom Intuos3 DinA5 wide tablet btw.

Thx again!

If you want to do me a favour please vote my sketchbook (red link in signature) with 5 stars ... ;)
