The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras....and can be in any media, digital or traditional is fine.

In addition to this, participants can choose to do a Optional Study of "Ears", in any media. Black and White or Colour is fine.

:muscle: Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!:muscle:

PS...critting each other is highly encouraged!! Let's help each other get better!

I totally missed the last one because of work, i'll post my drawings here once i finish them! Kudos to Prepsage for his drawings, you've got a great loose feel to them that looks fantastic. Some nice stuff from 0shade0 and Rabbi Satan as well!

thanks ibbo. Updated moar gestures-unfortunately, I'm seeing a lot of inconsistencies with my lines + timing.

shade & rabbi- try to loosen up a bit and see "around" the fig with your lines. Gesture drawing-from what I've learned- is about capturing the expression of the figure. While guidelines & geometry are great tools to ensure proper proportion & such, capturing the weight of the figure and movement is essential from the onset. Try warming up with some 10 sec gestures to force yourself to see the important information first. If you're used to using pens, try charcoal to let your lines express information as well.

My first Spartan post, but the third or fourth time I've tried to motivate myself to participate.

Warmups included in this one. I found it a lot easier to complete when I did it all at once.

Any advice on streamlining the digital process?

My gestures. I hope it works the first time.

I think for certain I won't be using white as my background any more. I'll probably go with gray or black.

I will be using longer poses/gestures in my future submissions, but for now I just felt I had to take initiative and just make that first post.

I'll also be playing around with the optional at some point before the deadline.

When I finish my optional work, I'll come back and do a crit of others before me, not that I'm an expert, but I've been told I have a good eye.

rabbi satan - great job, love how definitive your handling is. i agree with prepsage about trying some looser figures.
prepsage - awesome! these are beautiful, delicious liney curvyness. i think maybe in some of the longer ones there is a loss of the sense of where the pelvis is.
0shade0 - great to see those studies. i should probably do those, too =\
lithium logica - congrats on finishing your first 50. i wouldn't use a black bg, some sort of neutral light color is usually good. i notice that you retrace a lot of your lines - try leaving them alone and adding more to each figure seeing as you run out of time before getting to the legs or feet.

damn! nice turn around this week. love it!!! :D:D:D:D
keep up the good work guys.

Rabbi Satan - try to keep your lines to a minimum and focus on proportions.
prepsage - very nice dude. love your gestures and the optional is off the hook. keep up the good work.
0shade0 - nice studies but no star unfortunately. everything must be submitted before the deadline. but keep trying man.
Lithium Logica - nice work. try to do more full bodies next time. good going :D
bluefruitbowl - nice gestures. watch the anatomy and proportions.
ibbo - very nice gestures, too bad not 50 :( did they take you a long time? maybe that's why you didn't do all 50 of them? try to keep them every more simple
Anthis - very nice as usual man. love the optional man. nice work.
