What kind of clay?

Hi

im just wondering what kind of clay is best for sculpting small details, i know that super sculpy is popular buy the sculpter here on the forum, but i think its very expensive and would like to find other clays that cheaper and as good as SS, so if i could get som tipps i would be very happy :)

ive searcht but couldent find a clay guide on the forum..if you know a tread on this forum ore another page please link it

Personally I prefer Plastilina. Cheap and doesn't dry out on you. harder consistency versions (ranges from soft - hard) are good for highly detailed, but I find medium to be best balance for pliability and sturdiness. but, if i'm going to do really large pieces and ones that require lots of armature work, then I'd rather go with some form of water based clay.

I use either Castilene Hard or Chavant NSP Hard. Castilene is a bit expensive, but is my favorite. Chavant is about half the price and is pretty close to what Castilene can do. I've also heard about Chavant Y2-Klay being pretty good.

Actually all can be bought from that site, but the other two you can probably find something closer to where you live so shipping wont kill you. That is the only place to buy Castilene though.
