Sorry for the delay, my computer was at the shop.

Here are the finished covers. Voting will be open for 2 weeks. Good luck all and well done.

The challenge was to create a Book Cover given the following description:

The title of the book is: Desiderata

This was the prompt given: [Main Character] has just been reborn (though he doesn't know it). He wakes up in a desert, bursting with energy. Plants grow wherever he steps. He is but a shell, filled with light. The book shal be about discovering power and deciding what to do with it. How to live one's life.

I've taken this from COW as it applies:

1. Please give c&c or a reason why you voted for the image!

2. Feel free to comment on any or all entries, the artists will appreciate it!

3. No voting for your own entry!!! If a participants votes for his own entry, every member has the right to call him a stupid lame moron in this thread! And i will delete his/her vote anyway...

Here's my entry.

I went something from the main character's p.o.v. I designed it like from inside of an orb that acts like an eyeball. In other words, everything that is seen through the "iris" is beautiful and colorful while everything outside the iris is bleak and gray.

I made the iris an oval/egg shape to symbolize the womb, as means of hope and aspiration that can be attained with strong individual ethics (ethics as a means of protection, womb as a means of protection.

In short, the whole piece basically says "You perceive what life is regardless of how it really is."

Here is my work.

Golden Desert symbolizes the surrounding that affects ones life. Footprints are the marks that lead to the desire treasure and the green grass growing around it is growth and development. Sea shell is like the treasure (one’s dream and desire) achieved.
